Finally a decent post on how much this means to the city.

Building the ground next to the sewage plant was the injection the city needed. It’s accelerating everything and will adjust the location of the city centre creating billions.

The 777 confirmation has now cemented this.

Amazing and quite thankful for all of this.

on that last video Binners posted, towards the end you can see the seats next to the south stand riser wall have a like of steps immediately adjacent to the wall, moving the seats inwards a little. You can see that the base of the south stand meets the ground, come infield about 8 - 10 metres for the coal line, and draw a line from the seats to the goal and you can see that the wall you will have to look over will be about 8 -10 seat rows down so you'll be looking over the wall. Sadly you'll get a full view of the pitch. Meis had it covered after all, who knew.

As @Tom Hughes pointed out if you set the walls to run at 90 degrees where the whole lower corners become part of the South, then that increases the capacity of that stand even further.

In one of the early designs this actually was the case, although the wall was smaller, as the height difference was a lot less and the wedge was bigger at the bottom, which is the opposite to what we have now.

It would have been the simplest thing in the world to switch it to be 90 degrees, so it definitely had to have been suboptimal in some form to end up with the swept back dividing lines.
 
It'll take a while for this to get off the ground but there are developers on board with this already. It should further enhance the view of the south stand. Bramley Moore will one day be classified as the city centre years from now.

As mentioned previously, the stadium quiz now mentions the South stand capacity as 14,800.

Have the club mentioned anywhere else previously that stands capacity is now that new number?

Or is that the first anyone’s heard of that?

They also advised @GrandOldTeam that the renders of the 60k and original design was the one being built.

It’s 13k+.

Its 13,000, but if there is ever any changes to the safe standing rules it could rise to 14,800.

Would be my thinking.

That’s not right.

If the safe standing ratios change, it goes to 16,000 (presuming it’s still 13k capacity at the moment)

Maybe they’re thinking, when the ratio changes, it would then be bigger than Spurs South stand if it’s current capacity is 14,800.
