What is this nonsense about stability.
Why would Moyes or a manager of his ilk give more stability than literally any other manger.
The club needs progressive future thinking, not short-term Premier League necessity fire fighting. That's what got us in this doom cycle to begin with.
Any manager is going to have to deal with the summer situation, if Moyes stayed until after the summer and we inevitably bin him off after next season any new manager is going to end up with a ton of players they probably wouldn't want.
Villa didn't go back to Smith or Lambert after Gerrard, when they were struggling a bit.
It's a complete myth.
I would but this squad isn't doing that under today's David Moyes. You know you would snatch an 8th place right now.
We won a game 5:1 under Dyche as well.
This is overlooked and in my opinion you’re spot on.Some of the football under Moyes was brilliant.
Baines Pienaar Osman Arteta all in tandem Lescott bringing out the back, Cahill linking with Yakubu
When it was good it was very good
I'm guessing you didn't watch ndiaye yesterday if you think that. It's clear 3 or 4 new players are needed. But also some better tactical direction offensively could do wonders.Took him a while to get that team together. Do you think we have any of those kind of calibre players now?
N’Daiye maybe and Branthwaite. No one else comes close with this lot.
Anyone expecting anything other than a continuation of more pragmatic football under Moyes is in for a shock. Well, a disinterested yawn maybe.
So he should be offered a long term deal then? That’s down to player quality, which is the point I’ve been making for ages.
It will be pragmatic at first for sure but Moyes has shown that he can improve a teams style over times better players.
The football was so boring under Moyes.
Agreed but he did sign those attractive attacking players back in his day.I would but this squad isn't doing that under today's David Moyes.
Anyone kidding themselves into that is an idiot
Any of them playing for us over the next six months?
People forget what the footy was like before Baines showed up.
By the by, Moyes' overall win% is slightly elevated cuz of the United tenure.Yeah exactly, it wasn’t a trend that went on for whole seasons. Those one off shockers we had under Moyes, they were literally the norm under Dyche.
As I’ve said many times, you simply cannot compare the two as managers. They operate at entirely different levels.
Yeah I remember when he made WHam a constant in Europe, especially the first time when they fired him for losing more than winning.
He did stabilise us for sure, perfectly so, but he will not kick on. "Best of the rest", "knife to a gunfight", et al., might fluke you to a final for a cup (as with us in the FA or for the Conference with them).
Also EVERYONE kept calling the trophy they won pointless, mickey mouse, said they won't celebrate it because it's stupid and that they won against some nomarks (which is true, the way to the final was paved by beating the 5th best Belgian team and a midtable club from Cyprus), and now it's a massive achievement? Are we also ignoring they finished 4 points ahead of us in that season as they were direct competition with us for the relegation spots?
