People forget how good the team was in his last season as it got kind of overshadowed by Bobby's first. But it was essentially just a continuation of the prior season, but with a top striker up front.
It was better than we have had in the past few years but mainly inconsistant. I Remember getting outplayed by Wigan at home in the FA Cup

One good thing with Moyes is he won't take a week or two to fart about looking at the squad he will have a plan from the moment he walks through the door, I wouldn't be surprised if he has dropped hints at 2 or 3 players he might want in too help with the fight.
He's not had anything on has he. I'd expect him to be very well versed on the squad with a clear plan of what needs doing.

For all the stick he gets, Moyes’ teams could actually play football.
Even in our most grim times under him, I don’t remember the game plan ever being to lump it in the general direction of a striker and hope to win a second ball.
He was/is a cautious manager and tended/tends to lack ambition away to the 'big' teams but we had attacking full backs and a technically good midfield for the most part.

The problem is we don't have that now.

In conclusion, I don't know what to think.

What’s more encouraging is how quickly he rebuilt that team.

His first team collapsed after the cup final with Arteta Yakubu Lescott sold. It was pretty bleak for a short period.

Then he sells Rodwell and brings in Pienaar Gibson Naismith Jelavic and Mirallas all for peanuts. A movement in Fellaini’s position and all of a sudden we were back at that previous level with an extremely good PL team that would have made Europe if it wasn’t for Swansea and Wigan winning both cups.

Big + about Moyes is that there's clear evidence of him actually improving players. Arnautovic is an excellent example at West Ham. Also Lingard, Bowen, Kudus, Paqueta (state of the latter two under Lopetegui) etc. Compared with Dyche we have Dwight Mcneil and...that's about it. Maybe Doucoure for about 10 games (God help us all). How did Calvert-Lewin play under Dyche?
I think DCL could thrive under Moyes. Also, we have Pickford, who has played under him, while he had targeted Tarkowski and Broja in the past. The squad seems to be one to his liking, despite the obvious deficiencies. But a good manager can make the most out of the strengths and minimise the weaknesses.

The vote reflects the position FDG are in.
Its unlikely we will get any manager currently in a job.
Leaves who, moyes, carsley, southgate, ten hag maybe few others. Two of them probably wouldnt even take it. Im no massive fan of Moyes but what happened 12 years ago. Its dropped. Much bigger issue right now with relegation.

We're in this position coz Dyche was fkin terrible.

Given all that i dont think Moyes is the worst decision if its made official. Moyes and one or two half decent signings in this window. We'll have a fighting chance.

I think people underestimate just how much the game has changed since his last tenure here.

He worked miracles here, no doubt about it but football has changed significantly since.

I'd have been onboard for a 6 month stint but sadly and understandably on his part, he wants a longer deal
