It was better than we have had in the past few years but mainly inconsistant. I Remember getting outplayed by Wigan at home in the FA CupPeople forget how good the team was in his last season as it got kind of overshadowed by Bobby's first. But it was essentially just a continuation of the prior season, but with a top striker up front.
He's not had anything on has he. I'd expect him to be very well versed on the squad with a clear plan of what needs doing. One good thing with Moyes is he won't take a week or two to fart about looking at the squad he will have a plan from the moment he walks through the door, I wouldn't be surprised if he has dropped hints at 2 or 3 players he might want in too help with the fight.
I know this is sarcastic but the point was that he might not even keep us up, and the idea that he will settle things in the short term isn’t based on the facts of his career.Oh dear, and here's me thinking we might be in the top 6 by May. Oh dear. So much for hoping.
He was/is a cautious manager and tended/tends to lack ambition away to the 'big' teams but we had attacking full backs and a technically good midfield for the most part. For all the stick he gets, Moyes’ teams could actually play football.
Even in our most grim times under him, I don’t remember the game plan ever being to lump it in the general direction of a striker and hope to win a second ball.

Fellaini, Lescott and Cahill ?One good thing with Moyes is he won't take a week or two to fart about looking at the squad he will have a plan from the moment he walks through the door, I wouldn't be surprised if he has dropped hints at 2 or 3 players he might want in too help with the fight.
I think DCL could thrive under Moyes. Also, we have Pickford, who has played under him, while he had targeted Tarkowski and Broja in the past. The squad seems to be one to his liking, despite the obvious deficiencies. But a good manager can make the most out of the strengths and minimise the weaknesses.Big + about Moyes is that there's clear evidence of him actually improving players. Arnautovic is an excellent example at West Ham. Also Lingard, Bowen, Kudus, Paqueta (state of the latter two under Lopetegui) etc. Compared with Dyche we have Dwight Mcneil and...that's about it. Maybe Doucoure for about 10 games (God help us all). How did Calvert-Lewin play under Dyche?
They've been talking to Moyes weeks ago. It's always been the plan if Dyche couldn't see us through safely. They've just left themselves in a poor negotiating position with the way they've gone about it.I doubt Moyes was the plan. They’ve been caught short and are subsequently scrambling about for a quick solution.
Bill lives..Seems he's still underrated round here, be great to have him back, a safe pair of hands and gave us some of the best days of lives in the past 20 years. Still needs must.
