I believe Moyes wasn't a very big fan of Barkley initially. Did he make the mistake for the goal? It's been 14 years, memory isn't great.

Did he start Vs QPR on opening day, and he didn't play great then was shipped out to Leeds under Warnock or Sheffield United to "toughen" up.

Don't think Moyes can take too much credit for Barkley. Did bring in someone good youngsters thiugh, he can have that.
Yep - exactly this. He can't take credit for Barkley, that belongs to Martinez who actually had the guts to play him. Moyes didn't and never had a good record with young players.

Not the best out there of course, but probably one of the best of what's available to us unfortunately. To be fair to him he did a solid job with the hammers. Won the mickey mouse cup and has had decent finishes in the league with them. I
Personally I am not convinced he is much better than dyche, perhaps marginally better. One thing for sure he will be 100% motivated which we know wouldn't have been the case with dyche.
Well, I accept that the 2025 Moyes is a bit of an unknown quantity, mate, but in his prime he took a basket case Everton back towards the top end of the league on 25p and a bag of crisps as a transfer budget compared to others. Another £25 or £30 million, and who knows?

As I said, the current Moyes might not have the same ability as once upon a time, and I never actually despised Dyche like some, but they're not remotely compatible, really.

Davie Weir might be a better choice, given how they have built up Brighton behind the scenes.
Everton have asked him once and he turned them down. It would depend on his view of how well TFG run football clubs. I wouldn't be confident he'd take it but he would be the one I would be asking.
