2024/25 David Moyes

It's about opinions isn't it? That's my opinion. Lukaku was a good striker for us but he was the kind of striker that we as a team won or lost by. If he was on it we won, but if he wasn't we tended to lose...and everyone else in the squad seemed to forget how to score.
I want Everton to be up right at the top and in with a realistic chance of trophies. Yes, west ham won something with Bowen, yes he's a very good player. I just don't think he's ultimately good enough to be the main goalscorer for where I want Everton to be. And I'm right as the other top teams haven't been after him have they?
PL TEAM CAUGHT UP IN IN GETTING BETTER RESULTS WHEN BEST PLAYER PLAYS WELL STORM.

Almost word for word , most like minded Blues on this very forum. could have penned that.

Anyone that differs from this were sucked into the Dyche media led narrative & either ignorant , stupid or both.

Of course he done what he was brought in to do , first & foremost to avoid relegation in truly testing circumstances. The main reason he achieved this was the teams relegated were in a much worse state than we were & some very fortuitous decisions and results going our way.
That's not to say another manager couldn't have done the very same.

This season was the straw that broke the camels back , from a ridiculously prepared pre season to the turgid football served up from the start to his exit laid bare the myth that he was the "right fit" and made a mockery of the "be careful what you wish for" brigade.
Only now the world can see just how bad a manager Dyche is when a capable manager almost instantly changes the whole club , players & fans psyche , actually playing football with a plan and utilising the strengths of players shunned by Dyche.

For now I hope we confine this period into the same bin as Benitez etc al , huge stains on the clubs past hopefully never to return again.

No matter what the forum loon say, he isn`t getting another job in the Premier League.

Moyes has completely shown him up for what he is.

When you look at Bowens numbers, they are actually quite impressive, I think in a better team he would produce close to Salah numbers, he is very underrated imo. He is well above West Hams level.
Not sure I agree but it's all about opinions. Not saying his numbers are bad, but his goalscoring has fluctuated over the seasons hasn't it? Sarah's numbers have been consistent. I do t watch enough of west ham to really know too much, but you'd have thought if he was as good as he has sometimes looked on highlights that a bigger club would have been in for him. His play always seems a little one dimensional for me...he seems to do his running in space at the defence and finishing after maybe turning last defender. A good skill to have though, no doubt

Thats not a worry as he isn’t an Everton player 🫤 he is also a RW and isnt intended to be the main goalscorer.

I’d love us to have a Lukaku esque striker but we have never had one before or after him in the PL and players of his quality are very rare for clubs not in the top 3/4.

I’d love is to have all the best players in the world and be winning everything, that’s the aim and where I want us to be. But let’s be realistic and for where we are and want to be within the next 3/4 years, Bowen would be a fantastic level of player for us. Well above any of the RW we have as options currently.

It’s all moot anyway. As he isn’t and won’t be an Everton player. The point is, of all the players you could throw at Moyes being blinded by, Bowen is a poor shout considering his goal returns as a RW.

I think if we had had a front 3 who were decent and contributed goals but who weren't as good individually as Lukaku we would have been a better team. Lukaku needed to be the main man
I just don't think that's true to be honest. In his last season there was the often repeated 'fact' that we would have finished in the exact same place without Lukaku's goals, and in his first season we won more games that he didn't score in than ones that he did. It just seems like a lazy criticism really.

But anyway, it's off topic so I'll leave you to enjoy the world you live in where Jarrod Bowen's 51 goals over the last 3 seasons make him not prolific enough for his midtable club and I'll get back to life on earth.

Id be very surprised if he doesn't take a step up to the next level in the summer tbh but we will see.

Bowen should leave West Ham. He’s wasting his career there. Rice knew moving on was best,
I can't agree with this, I'm forever moaning that the league has become a six club league and they vacuum up all the top players just for squad places. I would rather good players stay and try to make their club better. If the 6 keep on spending outrageously and we're actively looking to sell players to them for wasting careers, then we shouldn't complain.

We(the 14) will never close the gap consistently, not talking about the odd season up there like Leicester did but actually trying to become part of the group at the top season by season.

I will just add that having a career in the Premier League, winning a European trophy and playing for England is hardly wasting a career in my opinion.

Bowen is an exceptional player and he never stops for 95 minutes. His technique especially is underrated by people who think he’s just a speed merchant. He’d be in the match day squad of every team in the Premier league. He’d easily fit in at Arsenal, Liverpool or Man City.

We`d be doing well to find a forward who can score 6- 8 a season

Two right there mate.

Both easily capable of double figures when we aren’t playing dycheball.

NO!!!

Its boring, how longs he gone for?
No idea, it seems it's an allegation gone to far against Bishop, and he was given the chance to back off and apologise at the time. Didn't. Was naughty like.

How the olympic gymnastic floor routine to praise Dyche, criticise the club and blame Moyes for congestion and traffic for last nights test game was gonna be a vek special.

There's been some shouts for more cover signings in January, specific to another winger. Ndiaye got hurt last Wednesday, McNeil has been hampered for months, Harrison and Lindstrom is all we have left with Patterson and maybe Young to rotate a bit for cover. Losing Mangala, not getting a lot from Coleman, and Cal-Lewin breaking down for the second third of the season has contributed to a very stretched position. Moyes has delivered wins, and a draw against the champions elect (barf!). So we go into the run in with a lot less pressure on.

We've got more test events at BMD to rave about and enjoy, and the pics and reports to pour over.

I know it's early, I know it's not on Moyes, I'd like a few drip drips of detail about Legacy events at Goodison, and when the first international game will land at BMD. (and a possible last one at Goodison?).

And has anyone seen the new owners at the new ground yet? He's going to fly his Spitfire past for 80 years VE day isn't he. This club is often insane.
