I probably should add when i talk about Celtic not winning a knockout tie in Europe since 2004, i meant an after the group stage knockout tie as opposed to those Mickey Mouse teams you play in the qualifiers.

Hold on a second here isn't that the problem?

The Celtic board don't consider Europe to be an important enough priority?

In fact i'd say the last time Celtic were consistently good in Europe was in the O'Neill and Strachan era.

You haven't won a knockout out tie in Europe since 2003 for example.

Meanwhile Rangers were sent down to the fourth tier. They dragged themselves back into the top flight, and reached a European final losing on penalties.

For all Rangers problems on a domestic level i think in terms of European performances they have embarrassed Celtic in recent years.

Corky, we both know that didn't happen.

Has it occurred to you that one of the reasons Rangers get better results in Europe is that they don't play in the Champions League very often? I'm not saying the Europa League is easy, far from it, but it's not as high a standard as the CL.

Yeah but you have dropped down into it enough times from the Champions League as well. The non old firm Scottish clubs can barely get past one qualifying round in Europe!

I just didn't realise that you haven't won a knockout game in Europe after Christmas since 2004, but as it is the Celtic board are happy enough with domestic dominance.

European performances as far as i can see anyway just don't seem to be a priority for them.
