As much as I hate Newcastle; they (and Villa) have had their pants pulled down by the PL.

The last domestic trophy won by a non-"top 6" side was Leicester in 2021.

Since then every final has been congested by a "Top 6" club.

League cup, since Swansea won in 2013, there have only been 5 non "top 6" clubs who've competed in a final (Sunderland, Southampton, Villa & Newcastle x 2).

The FA Cup is exactly the same.

5 finalists who've not been part of the "Top 6" (Crystal Palace, Hull Aston Villa, Leicester & Watford).

Modern football is absolutely on it'd arse in England. So as much as I hate Newcastle, I hate the monopoly the big sides have had, and I can't stand them.

So worried? Maybe? Jealous? Absolutely? Hopeful that maybe we can have a run one year? That's what I clutch to.

Opinions seem divided about the significance of Newcastle winning the Carabao Cup for Everton FC.

Some seem nea in the game thread. Others seem concerned about the consequences on the behaviour of the Geordies towards Everton and Evertonians.

What's your view?
Why does anyone care what toon fans think?

I don't know any toon fans. I know plenty of gobshites.

Anything to reduce their incessant whiny voices.

This isn’t some great underdog story like Birmingham or Wigan. This is a team bankrolled by Saudi Arabian blood money that has the potential to even further completely derail the sport as we know it. They are part of the cartel, they have bought their way into it. This is not a mighty ducks style heroic underdog feat, this is terrible for football.

Won’t be laughing when they start singing since 1995 on the last day of the season though 😬😬😬

I didn't even know there was some sort of Everton/Newcastle thing. I have never spoke or heard from a Newcastle fan once about Everton. As someone said in the world football thread seems like people have just invented a nothing rivalry with a team hundreds of miles away from us. I mean they can hardly talk having not won a trophy for 70 years before today.
