Our Goodison Photographs

Not sure it wouldn`t have fallen down by itself in a few more years. The photos I`ve ever seen of it the terracing looks like its already crumbling away and the barriers look like they are pointing in all different directions.
New barriers were put in when that horrible fencing went up - no crumbling terraces either - I have photos of the new barriers which were rectangle in shape & the round ones getting removed ....

I imagine the seats could easily be ripped out if hooligans wanted to do it - Does BMD have areas in the future behind each goal for seats to be removed if the law changes?

I the days of computerisation standing should be safe lets face it the KOP stands most of the game ...

I think there was something mentioned about safe standing areas in the future that could see the capacity to 60k in the future. They do it in Germany for their domestic games, but have to go all seater for Europe. Dortmond get about 16k extra in for league games compared to European games doing this.

…introduced my 3 year old grandson to Goodison this morning as I’m about to say goodbye. Both my kids are fanatical Evertonians and it’s nice for me to know that the legacy lives on for yet another generation;

This is my favourite image at Goodison, I took this a couple of hours ago in the home dressing room and would dearly love to see it re-housed in BMD;

Safe standing has already been introduced in South Stand lower, there has always been a strange thing with UEFA, where they reduce attendances for games. When we were in UEFA cup, Everton weren't allowed to sell restricted view tickets.

I know the rail seating is in place, but in Germany they have proper terracing for home games.

For European games or internationals the replace the terracing with seats.

How come the floor in the Bullens is wooden but the Gwladys street is bare concrete?

And I’m assuming that there’s concrete under the wood in the Bullens?

As far as I know - Park end & Gwladys street had wooden floors under each grandstand - plus the old paddock was standing below then lower stand was built - standing only evidently the best spec in the ground in the early 1960s .... My older brother & my late father always stood there .....

The lower Gwladys was terracing, same as the paddock in the Bullens. It's only when you get to the lower Bullens where it was seated that it had wooden floors, as per the upper tiers in both stands.

I believe the old Park End terrace was made up of concrete at the front but wood underneath the stand above. Believe that's the reason for them bricking the back half up in 1979, the wooden element wouldn't pass safety standards. Also heard that part of it gave way in the 1979 FA Cup semi when Utd scored their winner against the RS, though not sure how true that part is.
