My first (girl) is 15 and the second (boy) is 10. As babies and young children their more demanding physically (my back has never recovered) and on your time. however it's much simpler in lots of ways. You'll find there's generally a right way and a wrong way to do things which is pretty obvious.

One good sign is that you're bricking it. That means you care. Keep caring and you'll be fine.

Oh yeah. Talk to them as much as possible from the word go. They won't understand you now, but it will make communication easier when they can.

Great advice thanks :)

Yeah it's crazy, never had so much love for anything and she's not even here yet. I've had first hand experience of a dead beat dad so i won't be doing the same to my child

Ha, yeah. And just cos they can't speak doesn't mean they don't understand what you're saying!

As mentioned, breast is best. However, there's a marvelous invention called a breast pump. This will allow you to take turns feeding. Yes, it's tiring of course but I enjoyed the opportunity to participate and bond with my children. Get medical advice on the breast feeding though.

Be prepared for your girlfriend crapping herself, nobody made me aware that this was a possibility and when my daughter was born the initial amazement at her birth was quickly overshadowed by the awful smell of my missus losing control of her bowels.

*closes account and prays she never finds this post*

We gave the breast pump ago, but after about 3 days we gave up - I hadn't produced a single drop. Rubbish.

Lol actually laughed out loud in the hospital at this and the missus made me show her what i was laughing at. I have been pre warned about this but I have a notoriously weak stomach so I'm dreading it!

Needless to say if it happens baby number two could be a long way in the distance lol

Tbf I couldn't tell if the smell was Mrs Twain's or mine!

Are boys easier to bring up than girls or vice versa? Imagine it's on a baby by baby basis (not easy to say)

Your missus is about to push a small human out through her vajangle. It's amazing anyone ever has two kids.

Haha just smile and politely retreat to a safe distance with the baby.

Seriously though good luck to you both, once she arrives and you're sat there staring at her all your worries about how you'll cope will disappear and you'll just get on with it like she's always been here.
