Transfer Rumour Eliaquim Mangala

Think this one could work out well.

Tall, strong , quick, left footed. And has premier league experience. Big Sam loves a defender with those attributes.

I’d also argue that our coaching /tactical focus might suit Mangala’s game more so then Pep’s. He’s probably not that tippy tappy type that perhaps pep demands. Where as Big Sam will just get him back to basics/ focus on his strengths.

I hope he does well, good luck to him.

Mangala and Keane as a partnership?

If Keane keeps the level he played against Leicester I can see this working well.

2014; "In a tetchy game of six bookings, defender Eliaquim Mangala was fortunate to escape with just a yellow card on his return from suspension after an ugly high kick on Samuel Eto'o left Everton's Cameroon forward writhing in agony."

Mangala is rash and impulsive, in other words an absolute liability. Two of his fouls in this game deserved a red card.

He has not been able to claim a regular first team place at City - they have still had to go out and buy Otamendi and Stones.

Is this a loan with an option to buy in the summer?
Hope so, if he does well and fits in we'd have Keane, Holgate and Mangala all young and able to be here for years and can sell/release Williams and Jagielka. Just leaves Funes Mori who Sam will probably want a look at before deciding to keep or get rid of.

If he is rubbish he goes back and we lose nothing. Decent deal in my view. He obviously has talent of City wouldn't have signed him in the first place, hope he finds form here.

Reading comments from City fans, they see him as a good no nonsense defender who will suit Allardyce and was just not good enough on the ball for Guardiola.

Williams is a liability, RFM still injured and Jags struggling, think he’s a good signing!

..we are in desperate need for athleticism in all areas of the pitch and this fella will certainly give us that. Keane needs pace and power alongside so it could make him more effective. The combination with Holgate is also of interest.

The game is so much about partnerships and players complimenting each other, just as we saw with Coleman and Walcott last night. I’m happy with the signing because he’s clearly somebody Allardyce wanted.
