Allardyce had nothing to do with the West Ham game. He wasn't even announced till the day after it and had barely spoken to anyone at the club and only watched the game from directors box. You say we were 2 points above the relegation zone before playing West Ham so that makes it maybe 5 points ahead after that result. We are only 7 points ahead of it now so forgive me for not getting too excited about it. BTW, we have recently conceded 9 goals again via Spurs and Arsenal as i recall.

The comparison quoted below makes interesting reading.

Never said he had anything to do with the West Ham game. I said we relegation candidates before that game.

And conceding 9 against Spurs and Arsenal away is a lot different that getting turned over at home to a no mark Italian side and Southampton who hadn't scored a goal for an age.

And that does make interesting reading. It's says that Koeman spent £200million and couldn't get his team to perform. And Sam isn't getting Koeman's team to perform...but one sits 10th.

It's not that easy mate...it really isn't.

Allardyce, Pulis, Pardew, et al, the so called " firefighters " all do the same thing - stop conceding, tighten things and work from there > organisation.

They aren`t paid to do anything else, other than to keep teams up.

Other than the initial few games ( lots of luck ), we haven`t tightened up and there`s no sense of any organisation at all.

So what is he doing, as I have no idea.

Every week you have opposing teams fans come on and post sensibly and without wummery, that having watched us for the first time, they are amazed by the lack of cohesion and how disorganised we are. Expecting a well drilled typical Allardyce team, instead, they`ve watched an absolute mess of a team.

That`s down to him.

He smirks, he shrugs, he blames previous managers, the players, the fans.

You crack on mate x

I'm saying he's done the best he can with the players he's inherited.

No mate.

But this mess ain't down to him.

When he spent the week leading up to the Arsenal match watching videos of the almighty Swansea for inspiration, then throwing in Mangala who was clueless and leaving out our only two midfielders worth a damn, that wasn't down to him?

When we went 1-0 up against Burnley with our defence all over the place with it being a matter of time before conceding and he makes changes (taking off our two best players of the day) to every area of the pitch except the area that was screaming out for changes, that wasn't down to him?

He was claiming it today mate with his 17 points from 8 home games.

We're 7 pts above relegation.
