No chance unfortunately. United paid £16m for him four years ago. I'd say the best we can hope for is £20m (and at £20m, I still don't think it's an awful deal).

There's definitely better options out there, though.

Problem is we’re running out of time for these better options.

If you give Tosun the same amount of pens Rooney took, it wouldnt even be a competition. He’s actually a good pen taker too, unlike wayne, so add 6-7 goals to the 15.
Without pens, Rooney would have scored what, 3 goals? 4?

7 from open play, only 3 pens surprisingly. I think the amount he missed make it feel like more.

Batshuayi loan, N'Zonzi and Lascelles would represent a good window on top of Richarlison and Digne.

I agree about dowell. Don't get where the love for him has come from. Did he do ok in the 22 nil game? The same game mirralas scored 5 in a half? He's not even near to being a stater for us.

Me neither.

Would love him to turn into a worldy for us but at the moment it’s not looking very likely.

He’d have a couple of bad games and the hounds would descend upon him and turn him to jelly anyway, like they did with Barkley and are doing now with DCL and Davies.

What on earth do you mean 'the paucity of our budget' We have loads of money, we are just,unlike last summer, using it sensibly. Altogether Brands has managed a good transfer window.

An over the hill Rooney scored 10 in half a season last year. I'd be wanting our main striker to be bagging 20 with the right service this season.

Huh, I honestly though he scored more pens. Worst pen taker for us in a decade(Mirallas excluded...).

He might be integral to Silvas plans, he might be a back up option. I don’t think he’ll be awesome so if the chance arises to get in a better fit then I’m all for it. Just aware the way it’s rurned out so far isn’t all his fault.

I am a bit slack on players, always have been - provided they are trying to improve.

The thing with Keane, is that he`s looked way worse in the friendlies than he did last season, which is quite an achievement.

He`s a centre forwards dream to play against - no pace, no positional awareness, timid and can`t turn.

Another one of the Koeman / Walsh expensive mistakes.

If we can keep Lookman and get rid of Mirallas, Martina, Bolasie and Schneiderlin..

Then get one of Lascelles/Rojo/Mina (any of those three are as good as each other in my view and would cost similar amounts), N’Zonzi and maybe someone on loan like Batshuayi we’d have had a really good window.

I’m really hoping that if we brought in a good CB Keane would step it up and settle in a much better defence. I have my doubts though as he’s looked nothing shy of terrible since joining.

.....with the countdown well and truly on, here’s the Toffee transfer rumours for this Friday morning;

- Everton’s official site have confirmed the move of Everton’s 33 year old Centre Back, Ashley Williams, to Stoke on a season long loan.

- The Guardian’s Ed Aaron’s continues to link Everton with a move for Newcastle defender Jamaal Lascelles.

- According to Correio Da Manhã, Everton are leading the way to sign Leicester striker, Islam Slimani. The 30 year old Algerian made 4 appearances on loan for Newcastle at the end of last season and scored 48 goals in 82 appearances for Sporting in 16/17.

- Argentinian outlet, Ole, report Manchester United are ready to accept a €33m bid from Everton for Marco Rojo but the Centre Backs wages could be an obstacle.

- L’equipe say Everton are interested in a deal for Chelsea striker, Michy Batshuayi, but the 24 year old Belgian prefers a move to Valencia.

- Sky Sports and various other outlets suggest Everton winger, Kevin Mirallas, is on the verge of completing a loan deal to Fiorentina which includes an option to buy.

- Gazzetta dello Sport report Sevilla midfielder, Steven N’Zonzi, has his heart set on a move to Everton or Arsenal. Either Marco Silva or Unai Emery will move for him and meet the 29 year olds wage demands.

- The Liverpool Daily Post report 20 year old Everton midfielder, Nikola Vlasic, is expected to leave the club this summer. Newcastle are said to be interested in the Croatian.

- Les Violets suggest Everton have made an enquiry for Toulouse Centre Back, Christopher Jullien. The giant 25 year old could move for £8.9m.

- Yorkshire Evening Post reckon Leeds are battling Wigan over a loan deal for Everton’s 23 year old defender, Matthew Pennington. Wigan, however, could drop out of the race if they sign Motherwell Centre Back, Cedric Kipre, for £1m.

- Sky Sports report Burnley have had a £12m bid rejected by Middlesborough for defender, Ben Gibson. The 25 year old has been linked with a move to Everton.

Just a note to say tommorow’s will be my last transfer summary of the summer. I’ve an early flight to catch on Sunday as i’m going away on another holiday. It’s been a long summer, and whilst the rumours are mainly jarg, they hopefully provide a bit of interest and inform discussion. I’m sure there’ll be lots to chat about next week. Up the Toffees.

There'll probably be another 4 or 5 out the door (Mirallas, Vlasic, Pennington, Galloway & Browning).

If we get those out and a CB and a midfielder that can pass the ball more than 10 yards in then that will be a good window.

Would like to get shot of Bolasie, Schneiderlin and Martina too but can't see it happening.

Dowell will be out on loan again, Besic sold IMO. Neither of them are going to have us pushing for a top 6 place which is what we need to be aiming for.

We’re a long way off top 6 mate. No chance of that this season unless we pull out a couple of incredible signings.
