I really wanted him to work out for us.

We never seem to get lucky with strikers.
He has ability but was dreadful in the games against West Ham and Huddersfield when he was needed.

IMO he started the season fairly well, 2 assists at the begining, then had some kind of drought and admittedly was out of form for a few weeks and as expected got benched, but afterwards he had a clinical finish against Palace after coming on, tho never started a game since, only played bits like 10-15 mins, and not everygame, sometimes it was DCL, but it was not because Silva thought he is hopeless, but because of Richy's promising development as striker and his desire not to drop any of Walcott, Richy and Bernard. So it was the case of natural series of events, don't think he is gash in the eyes of the coach. Let's see if he starts tonight, we could see where he is atm mentally and physically

100%. Richarlison is so much better out wide. We won't need a world class striker today, just an average one, and we'll batter these.

Not good enough, not his fault but that´s just a fact of the matter. Yeah, he will nick you a goal here and there but his overall play just isn´t anywhere near good enough. I say it all the time, there can´t be many easier forwards for defenders to play against in the league.
