Think the issue people have is that we got beat by teams like Watford who shipped 5 past us. Now throw in to the mix teams like Brentford, Palace, Brighton, Wolves, Villa and Leeds all taking points from us this season and its a worrying prospect considering our next 5 games are absolutely must win against Villa, Norwich, Newcastle, Leeds and Southampton before we play City and have a difficult enough run to the end of the season from there. We don't want to be in a dog fight to stay up with a bunch of bottlers for players and to avoid that we need to win 4 of those 5 games.

I thought with new players and the injured coming back we'd be fine but we got easily cast aside by Brighton and really struggled against Hull, a team bottom of the championship. I'm worried honestly and with the shape of the club behind the scenes it's worrying times. So I can see why other Blues are annoyed. This season is utterly unacceptable.
The problem is the same as all season: we have not had our strikeforce together for any period of time.

No midtable club like Everton can endure that without sliding down the table.

We shouldn’t be relying on two strikers to help defend if we have a solid base, something that’s been torn up since Benitez came in

We had 8 tall players good in the air in Ancelotti’s set piece defence.

Recently the maximum we’ve had is 4. Of course that is going to make a huge difference

Mina Keane Holgate Godfrey Doucoure Siggurdson Richarlison DCL marking men in the area

Or

Keane Holgate Digne Coleman Doucoure Gray Townsend Rondon

Which looks the better set piece line up?

Sadly the open play football we played under Ancelotti by lining up with 4 centrebacks was absolutely terrible and every time he tried to go back to bringing Digne into left back or Coleman to right back and being more adventurous at home we ended up losing.

Adding in Mykolenko will hopefully help, but getting Mina DCL and Richarlison back is key for set piece defence and attack.

Yes from an attacking sense it wasn’t great but we were more solid defensively which got results, now it’s the opposite, a fairly solid attack with a defence that can’t do zonal. If he could find a way to blend the two, we wouldn’t be down in 15th but he’s too stubborn to do that
