Why would you pay £5-10 mil for a 10 bob player thats out of contract in a few months ?

"If he's not very good" ?
We already know he's not very good.

Think before you post mate.

Not long ago linked with big move to Man United. He had some injuries, some changes in manager and some poor form and he lost his way.

He is still young, he's available for cheap. This is exactly the kind of shrewd, low risk signing the club should be making. If the change of setting does not recharge him, we sell him and would likely get most of our money back.

It represents much less risk than paying £40-£50m for Matheus Nunes who we were linked with. Nunes would be more exciting but has a higher chance of going far wrong. In the clubs financial situation, it can not take these risks I think.

You say we sell him like someone would be stupid enough to sign a lad who failed at both Newcastle and Everton for actual money. How has that worked out over the last few years? We’ve spent hundreds of millions on crap and seen most of them leave for free. No idea where the optimism of selling him comes from.

Signing crap player means the team is becoming crapper. Signing the Newcastle Davies is a waste of cash.

Whichever way you butter it up
He's crap mate.

Hes worse than Tom Davies.

Not for any money.

More bodies in support of the manager, to create a more united dressing room.

Longstaff for £5m-£10m, on low wages, could be a great move. The player could reignite the form he had 2 years ago.

If he is not very good, we could sell him without making a real loss.

The part in bold ???

If ???
