This is why the club perhaps would do well to ignore fans.

Derby County Manager Win Rate

Steve McClaren 44.83%
Gary Rowett 43.33%
Frank Lampard 42.11%
Phillip Cocu 32.31%
Wayne Rooney 27.69%

Voting for him for 3 reasons.

1. Currently odds favourite - a lot of people vote for whoever they think is most likely.
2. BRING A BLOO HOME
3. Blagged by the media narrative he's doing a good job at derby. Good run of form for the last few weeks - that's it.
The results this season considering their current circumstances are remarkable. Of course those stats look bad in isolation, along with the flaws that are inherent in manager win rate as a statistic.

All that said I still wouldn't appoint Rooney anyway, from what I remember they were largely awful last season and he's still very unproven.

Still think he was a better appointment than those publicly named.

Interim - season job/fall guy. We didn't have a pot to piss in. Chelsea like. Made sense to me.

Then Everton decided they'd let the fella start rebuilding the club. When they sacked Brands on a whim etc - that's when I was out.

Should have been sacked a lot sooner than he was.

I still believe he was literally the worst choice other than Steven Gerrard. It was never going to work. There is no example in the history of football of someone so unpopular leading a city rival to success. Those who thought he was the right choice thought so based on things that happenned 15 or 20 years ago.

Allowing him to see off medical staff, a DOF, a senior player etc has been utterly daft. The club is a total mess, and I can't trust Moshiri to get this one right, if it even is Moshiri who is making the call. Let's be honest, who knows who is in charge right now.

Anyway, I'm a long time advocate of Lampard, and would have him in a heartbeat. Doubt he will be considered though.

It's perhaps too soon for Rooney but he has done a good job at Derby in very very difficult circumstances comparing his record to other managers who had more resources and no points deductions is pointless

To be fair, he's in a relegation scrap with a 21 point handicap and zero financial support. Managing Everton in the current situation should be a piece of cake.

To be fair, Benitez had fans on his back, had a terrible team and loads of injuries etc etc.

Still had a better record than Rooney at Derby.

Easy to make excuses.

Think about it. If Wayne Rooney wasn't a Scouser/Evertonian - he wouldn't even be up for debate.

You’re messing with them names in your last sentence I presume, Moyes aside? Why on earth would any of them come to Everton?

Honestly. I nearly didn't put them but I'm convinced that most managers will want to be in the PL and there's only so many super clubs.

I know I sound crazy.
