We will lose prepare for championship
That's how I always operate mentally tbh (can't be disappointed if you have no expectations) lol

Put a bet on for palace/leeds/burnley all to win just for kicks. Nightmare scenario if it happens though

So why was he sacked? He didn't take us forward, he lasted 18 months or so, we needed a long term manager, not sacking them every season.
I think since sacked Sam 9 separate people have been in charge at some point, it's impossible to do anything other then decline like that.
Silva was taking us down. We were literally in the relegation zone. Bored of all this revisionism our fans are doing, just because Benitez was a diabolical appointment doesn’t mean Silva and Koeman were good for us. They weren’t.

Terrified about this game. More chance to lose this then win.

We couldn't beat Burnley away
We couldn't beat Watford
Battered by Brentford
Cp is not looking good.
But we somehow managed to beat Man utd.....Chelsea and Leicester city in the same time period. With the same players. Crazy old game. And we are a crazy old team. And as crazy as this sounds ........it's all about Iwobi and Delph playing well. And of course Pickford.
But I get what you mean. Beating Palace won't be easy. Usually I would ramble on about our players turning up. And we put on a performance . And we beat Palace. But not now. We just don't know what Everton will turn up. We don't know how Lampard will game manage this match. We know nothing. It's all about hoping that everything will turn out ok. It's all about hoping that Brentford beat Leeds utd. And that is the sad thing now about our season. We are all hoping that Brentford beat Leeds. Awful. Awful.. Awful..

We do better agains Utd Chelsea etc because we expect not to have much of the ball and if we get our noses in front we forget about trying to get a second and make it very hard for them to break us down. Against the likes of Burnley Watford Palace etc, especially at Goodison, those teams are happy to take a point from the game, so we have to play with a bit more focus on attacking the opposition. In games like these when we get more of the ball we end up forgetting we have to defend and give teams too many good chances without having them to work very hard to get them. The cup tie v Palace showed this up, we were so well on top and in a matter of minutes we concede a corner and we're 2-0 down.

You do kinda fear the worst if we don't win tomorrow. Sunday could hold one of the biggest 'Everton that' moments of all time.

Er, i think you will find we were talking about the stupid sacking of Sam, the only "revisionism our fans are doing" are those who think we have got better since, we havent, we have only been worse, every manager has done worse, and the dumb sacking of Sam only to go for Silva, by Moshiri of course was the start of it.
This is how we find ourselves needing to win our last home game of the season to stay up, a masterclass in how not to run a football club

Of course you are spot on. And we have been like that now for a number of seasons. You would think that some manager would have figured out how to beat the likes of Burnley....Watford or Palace. How many managers is it now that haven't had the nous to work out a system to beat these sort of teams? we have to be beating these sort of teams?

And it's the same old players failing time after time. Doesn't really matter how Burnley or Palace play. We need to find a way to beat them. Lampard needs to find a way to beat them. He will only manage that when he gets rid of a number of our useless players. Let's hope that he has the cajones and the nous to do that.
We can't keep losing to these sort of teams just because they sit back and are happy to take a point. We need to find a way to break them down.
Lampard needs to get players in that can manage to do all that. Because this present bunch can't.

And the defeat against Burnley was nothing to do with what you have said. We were leading 2-1. Our discipline along with poor defending and poor game mismanagement lost that match. Nothing to do with not being able to break a team down.
Although that draw with Watford was because of exactly what you have said. We couldn't score. We couldn't break them down.
Sorry for the ramble........but maybe all these poor results is maybe because we are just a poor team. That's exactly what it is. We are a poor team.
Let's hope that Lampard can address all that. Or it's just going to be the same old [Poor language removed] next season as well...
Rant over. Up The Toffees...
Ps......stupid of me to use the Man utd...Chelsea and Leicester matches as examples of how good we can be. Those matches could have gone either way. They went ours. We need to find ways or players that can swing those other matches our way.
