I’ve watched the first 1/2 episodes of Stranger Things a couple of times and just got Super 8 vibes. Is it worth committing to? I’m thinking of giving it another go

Yeh no slowing down from the opening scene at the party lol I’m still sad it’s not an animated show though as they could have kept it more to the source material if so.
The Boys: Diabolical is an animated anthology series also on Prime that’s brilliant.
We've really enjoyed it. Its a great cast, the setting is superbly realised and it has some really creepy moments, and some good 'ick' for a TV show. First and second series are excellent, the third had a few missteps through being a bit too ambitious, the fourth has been terrific so far.

I watched that and really enjoyed it. I’ve never read the comics but I watch breakdown vids on YouTube from a guy called heavy spoilers who’s really good so I know a lot of the comic storylines from him. Made up there’s another 5 at 1 a week. I thought they’d dump another 3 or something and that would be it

Finished up three strong series over the last few days:
Visually stunning, strange and ambitious. Brimming with ideas, and no they don't all work, but this is a compelling, intriguing and difficult piece of work and I'm looking forward to what the next season will bring.
Prime, but I needed to pay for it.
The best of the new Star Trek shows! After a slightly wobbly start this really found its groove. Macfarlane frankly craps all over JJ Abrahams infantile films, Amazon's creaking, aimless Picard and Discovery's tedious 're-imagining'. The cast has warmth and wit, it has well drawn characters with strong dynamics, terrific guests, great effects and like the best of Trek has a really well thought out idea at the heart of each episode that leaves you pondering as the credits roll. It deftly and creatively examines current issues but never preaches. And its often very funny. Far from simply parodying Star Trek, its currently surpassing it.

This is absolutely brilliant. I have zero knowledge of the games or this world, came to it completely cold. Its a complex, challenging and beautifully animated steam punk fantasy that's as compelling as any live action. Characters are multifaceted and nuanced, alliances are built and torn down and there are mature takes on loss, loyalty, sacrifice, hero and villain journeys, politics, mental health. Its a fantastic piece of work that I can't recommend highly enough.

Gonna watch some crime stuff for a bit before I go deep nerd.
