If this deal goes ahead it just demonstrates how much of advantage the sky six possess where they can spend hefty amounts of funds on our best players who aren't even guaranteed a starting spot ala the richie transfer. I don't know what the appeal for Gordon is other than being on a champions league team, I think the move would hinder his development. Knowing us we'll sell him and loan him back lol
All part of the new moneyball strategy! We’re gonna sell us rich mate.

Fair point, but would you gamble £50m of the club’s money on it?

Let’s say Onana is as quality as he looked when he came on yesterday. £50m could potentially get us two players of similar quality in other areas of the pitch (possibly an oversimplification but whatever, I’m simple). I’d rather go for that than stay with the comfortable option of an eager kid that’s probably never going to be anything more than decent.
No chance, if we get offered it we have to take it

….if Gordon had agreed personal terms and we had players lined up to spend the income, I doubt he’d have been anywhere near the pitch at Villa Park on Saturday.
