Match Thread Burnley v Everton - Team Prediction, Match Report & MotM Poll

Burnley are a really bad side. I'm not sure we've kept the ball well at all in the 2nd half. That's to be expected given how many players we have out, but still, it's looking like a win, which is the main thing, however ugly it's been.

A rank awful game, but looking good for another 3 points and a clean sheet.

Lost count of how many times Harrison has given the ball away. Not a good game from him today.

Should we have built the new stadium? Poll

It might be, but the current path has us spending a huge amount of money in able to buy a player like Beto per season. It's hardly going to transform our fortunes.

Should we have built the new stadium? Poll

Sure, it's all speculation to an extent. I just figured West Ham would be an optimistic benchmark, both because the Olympic Stadium has a higher capacity and its widely understood that London clubs earn more per spectator than northern clubs. Even if we assume those figures are reasonable though...

Should we have built the new stadium? Poll

West Ham currently earns around double what Everton does per game, which if you go off perhaps 20 home games per season would give match day revenue roughly £10 million more than it is currently. Consider that West Ham averages around 58,000 per game.

Should we have built the new stadium? Poll

I'm sure I read Meis or someone saying that the new stadium would generate about that much extra in match day revenue.

Should we have built the new stadium? Poll

Current match day revenue is about that and hasn't changed over the last decade. When the project was launched that was the estimated extra revenue the stadium would bring.

Should we have built the new stadium? Poll

Let's assume that the loan is a pretty low 1% interest over, say, 25 years. That would cost us ~ 100 million in interest payments, or £4 million per year, which has eaten up roughly half of the additional match-day income. Compare that to West Ham, who get to keep all of the ticket revenue from...

Should we have built the new stadium? Poll

I'm not sure I'd trust this mob with spending £750 million wisely on a stadium any more than I would on the team. I mean the costs have ballooned by £250 million.
