Going back a bit, don’t I always but Maureen McGoverns’ “ The Continental “ was a brilliant version of that song although it only got to 16th in the British charts—-That was in the 1970’s.

A brilliant cricketer. That Lancashire team of the late 60’s and early 70’s were something special.

Met him last year as he was inaugurated into the Lancashire Hall of Fame. Sadly suffering from dementia of some kind, but you could see he was thrilled to be bestowed the honour.
