Poor team but its not much different whoever he picks. We have no first team. Our entire squad is made up of squad-players. Can see Isak and Barnes tearing us a new one tonight.
Neither can Dom. His poor first touch and lack of upper body strength/understanding of how to lean into the defender lets him down time after time. I keep reading his hold up play is a strong-point. I strongly disagree.
Beto may not be much better, but by scoring a goal he has earned the right...
This. We were doomed the moment we decided to go for DCL as our main CF and not replace Lukaku. Instead we invested our money in every other position in the team.
To do this and at the same time expect to challenge the top teams was madness.
Back then our team was strong enough in other...
Its not like the CF has no influence at all in the team creating chances though. Many of our attacks break down from DCL cant hold up/control the ball or chooses the wrong option for a pass. For example against Brighton we had a potentially great chance on a counter attack. But it fizzled out...
We really need to get back to putting the ball on the goalline for him just to tap it home. How dare we expect him to create something for himself out of nothing or rob a defender just once during a run of 21 matches?
We look more dangerous as a team when Beto plays. Time to stop DCL auto-pick.
Maybe a proper good CF had scored even more than DCL did surrounded with such talent? IMO DCL struggles now because the squad we have now is not strong enough to carry a below average quality CF.
Why is it that we have no interest from the top teams for him? When we have quality players...
DCL fanboys desperately trying to shift focus from DCL being cr*p over on our wingers.
Fact is our wingers almost never recieves the ball in favourable positions where they can do damage. Watch yesterdays match and notice how many counterattacks break down because DCL cant hold the ball or plays...
Im not sure the problem is condidence. I think its more to do with lack of quality. Poor ability on the ball and playing at a level too high. Hes playing exactly like his pricetag would make you expect.
Not a surprise at all. Suggested him as a signing for us this summer but got shot down the second I posted it 🤨
Our team could do with his creativity and quality on the ball.
Good second half yesterday, poor first half. Neither of the Spurs goals were unsavable. Epsecially the first one he is slow to react. Second one shows the limitations with a "small" goalkeeper and limited reach.
