You know what I came here to say the exact same thing.
He’s clearly a lot better than where I rated him, I hope the return of Gana doesn’t see him move back to that ten role, him and Jimmy G are clearly our two best cms at the moment.
It’s as good of a line up as you could hope for given the players at our disposal.
At least when we don’t make subs until the 80th minute there will be less complaining (unless it’s McNeil, but that’s a different type of complaining)
“One Everton great and one jug eared slotter who bricked it when it mattered against Oxford United and cost us the league”
Could do with him now though tbf
I guess a 4-4-2 with Garner at RB, Alcaraz & KDH in midfield & Barry up front with Beto… he won’t start dibbling I don’t think, so putting Jack in at the 10 isn’t a realistic choice I don’t think. I don’t want to entertain the thought of McNeil starting.
Worried oyr CM will get overrun but if...
I do remember with Baines (and tbf Coleman too) Moyes took an eternity to put them in when most fans would have had them in sharpish - especially the season after Coleman was loaned to Blackpool.
Interesting to note that he’s only bettered by more than one player on expected assists and progressive pass distance - i would probably say that these two are loosely correlated.
We’ve still got Garner, KDH, Tim & Charlie who can play in some format of those midfield positions. Illy, grelish or dibbling (remember him?) can play in the ten role too.
I’d try to leave Armstrong at PNE to get minutes.
