Genuinely horrific news. Always awful when something like this happens, but just read that he’s very recently married with 3 young ones, just adds to the cruelness of it. And his brother…just awful

Hot damn, his wife posted this just 20 hours ago. Can't even imagine how she's feeling.

We put footballers on a pedestal or tear them apart when they dont perform. We forget they are just normal people with families too. A wife and 3 little kids see their whole world ripped apart along with all other family members. Terrible.

Feel for all his family, but genuinely cant even begin to fathom how his wife must be feeling. Marries the man she loves, and loses him a week later. Awful, awful news. RIP.

Never good enough sadly, and that's ultimately why the club didn't offer him something to make him stay

He was always going to get a better deal signing for a club as a free agent. - best for all parties I guess.

To be fair he’s released a classy statement today. - my only issue is it just should have been released weeks ago.

I wish him no ill will, but I'm also not at all bothered he's leaving. If he stays we have a player who will not want to be second choice and will want paid as a starting forward, but whose reliability and output mean he should be second...

All this age talk is rubbish, I can see with my eyes that Gana is the best midfield player we have his stats show he is not only the best midfielder in the premier league but across all of Europe, the guy also had the England midfield earlier on...

I'm not surprised he was offered an extension, but I think with the move to the new stadium and new era amongst other things it would have been the right time for him to seek a new path, either from within the club or outside. Both he, and the...

Personally I wouldn’t have give him a new playing contract as he’s never fit. However not going to lose any sleep on it. If Moyes thinks he worth one so be it. We’d still be paying him as a coach in any event All the stories that come out are...
