Ah he's a writer from New York Times, really good. Dunno if you podcast but give Set Piece Menu a bash at some point if so.

Again, I don't. I've never been to Goodison, though Rory Smith says it's the most unreasonably moany ground and he's brilliant so there's one account I'd trust, heh. But nah, I haven't even met that many Everton fans tbh. I've had one good mate in the past who was a Toffee and blue would be the...

Of course, I totally agree. It was just ironic. I think you and I have been over the signings stuff. Anyone saying we should be signing Mbappe or whatever has got a screw loose. I do think we'll see a decent pedigree of player being recruited if we stay up. Bruno and Trippier were both...

Re the benchmark thing? I've never thought Everton fans were unreasonable especially; I just thought it was a bit rich that an Everton fan might suggest Newcastle fans are unreasonable when the optics suggest the opposite.

Yeah. Our average attendances through the 60s and 70s were generally between 32-37k, but that fell and fell during the 80s under the McKeag stewardship, until a nadir around 1991 when the average was 16k. This was still an outlier though. Since then it's basically just gone up in line with the...

I wouldn't even know how to define a 'big club'; I find it's usually a made-up term perpetuated by fans of clubs who aren't in the running for anything any more to make themselves feel better. So that's most of us outside of the ESL chums. I guess we're all big clubs. Does 'big' = big...

I come for the craic and cos I like to see the view from the other side of the fence, and I've never had a problem with Everton. Nor do I have a problem with yous disliking Newcastle or Newcastle fans; but will admit to being surprised at the level of hate, seeing as there's no actual rivalry...

Wait, what, did you think I was an Everton fan or something? Or a neutral, or what? All I've ever discussed on here is Newcastle; in fact this thread must account for 99% of my posts. Of course I wanted Newcastle to beat Everton; I just wasn't going to give it big licks on here before the...

Well based on his first three months, my hope is a long time. I love how he comes across and he seems like a really good coach, certainly if the improvements of individuals is anything to go by. It's down to him really. The senior management rave about him but things can change in football...

Congrats on your 'gotcha', mind. Would've been impressive had I not been remotely secretive or mentioned our forum on multiple occasions... Ps, genuine question, who's the blokey in your avatar? Is it Dunc from an old FIFA or something?

Howe got a bit lucky in all fairness. It's been clear to anyone with a working brain (ie not Bruce) that he isn't a CF. However, Howe admitted that he saw him more as a number 10. It was only the forced change to a number 8 role (when Clark got sent off against Norwich) that has resulted in this...
