I don't think they're buying us to leverage against the club. I think they're doing it to smash the stadium piggybank with a sale the day they walk through the door, use the proceeds from the sale to cure their cashflow problems, and hope to grow their way out of debt by selling sporting assets as they appreciate.

They're making a huge bet that rights fees will continue to go up, up, up and bring club values along for the ride, but the growth of those fees has stalled. That's one major reason heavily leveraged clubs like Barcelona and the Italian giants ended up in the soup.

The point of the Prem's equity rules is to be able to tell showers like this lot where to go. That should have happened a long time ago. Repeating the Hicks and Gillett fiasco is not good for any club's valuation, which is why there's a rule.
But the likes of Barcelona or Liverpool were never getting relegated, finishing 3rd is a failure to those clubs. Any weakening of our squad will guarantee relegation, it might happen even without that.

Everyone is running with a narrative that this lot are so stupid that they'll sell every player and expect to make money, or just put us into administration and burn their money. Anyone want to explain why they think they'll do this? What would they gain from this?

Without fantasy Usmanov theories

Keep these cowboys away!!!

(This is a joke by the way, there may be other factors)

The first 1s source is 2 years old.

The second 1 is probably the most accurate.

200m 777
30m Metro
470m Moshiri
200m Stadium

1.2billion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tbf that's a lot of made up debt. Moshiri is never seeing a penny of that and 777 have to convert theirs to equity. 200m mortgage on a stadium is not that bad. So we're *only* in about 370 million debt lol

I mean its not made up debt, its actual debt.

You are entitled to say it wont ever be paid back, for whatever reason, but the fact is that it currently sits on our balance sheet.

MSP would also have to be paid back as a condition for change of ownership, if it was 777 - this season.

What hasn’t been mentioned, is if we go down, the PL don’t have jurisdiction over the EFL, they have a different Fit and proper test - very much take the view, that it’s not up to them to pick good and bad owners.

So the conditions for the 777 deal could change…..

Yeah the debt situation is simultaneously not as bad as made out and also the end of the club as we know it depending on the route that 777 go down.

If £1bn of debt is true, the club should just enter administration yesterday. That ain't being paid back.
