2024/25 Abdoulaye Doucoure

The problem is he doesn't press properly and never wins it back.

He's been absolutely shocking this season.

Dreadful from Moyes to allow him to trip over himself for 85 minutes
This is what I wish everybody would really understand: He doesn't actually accomplish much of anything in the press. Rarely intercepts passes and is not a particularly frequent tackler, either. So he's just kind of out there not actually winning the ball any more frequently than the other players in the attacking areas do while being poor in attack. It's weird.

That moment in the first half where he just had to weight a simple pass through and we were in on goal and he messed it up is why Everton will never be anything with players like this.
For that split second you saw it was him you were going get it right get it right....
Nope. Underhit and not even in the direction of the blue shirt.
Its not like he's paid as a squad player. He's on top dough and he cant weight a pass.
Only Everton.

I assumed he'd not make the right pass, which actually made the miss all the worse as Beto had done amazingly to turn that pathetic pass into a 1-on-1 with the keeper. Terrible effort though in the end.

He needs to be dropped. We need to advance as a team. It's time to give Tim a run in his position. Even Chermo in a 442. Once Dwight and Ndiaye are fully fit he needs to be out of the side

…..I noticed how much defensive cover he was giving in the first 20mins of that 2nd half. Not as obvious as Gueye, Doucoure gets goal side of the opposition and mainly gets in the way, he must be a nuisance to play against and that’s why he plays.

We know him well by now, nothing has changed, nothing will change. Looking like he won’t be here next season, he’ll leave us easier to attack but allow us more quality in possession.

It is what it is.

120k a week, I believe.

And people wonder why we were in so much trouble.

Time he was dropped and we start planning for next season.

Give him a big clap at the Southampton match for the Bournemouth goal and wish him well for the future.
You know, we wouldn't have needed his Bournemouth goal if he - and his team-mates - were actually any good. They got us into that mess and I'm damned if I want to thank him for getting us out. Graham Stuart has made a career out of that Wimbledon goal. We need to have higher standards and stop celebrating failed players from failed teams who so nearly humiliated this fanbase.

Stuart was man of the match in the semi at Elland road the year after, and played a big part in us winning the cup. I think he got 13 goals from midfield in big joes only complete season as manager. He may have be most famous for that goal but it’s far from the only thing he done in his career at Everton.

Yes, to be fair to him, he won a cup. He's perhaps not the perfect example - but I still associate him with the mediocrity and decline of the 90s. But actually, you're right overall - he was a player of some technical ability and great heart. He'd certainly standout in the current side.

Sorry Graham. I'm being too harsh on you.

He won’t leave us easy to attack against at all,
That’s just nonsense, better players keep the ball and that how you relieve pressure. We seen it against Utd last 20
He just kept giving it away.
And we couldn’t get out
Actually hes a poor midfielder from a defensive point of view, he’s clueless,
When you compare him to Gana

Spot on 100% it’s embarrassing the standards
All this give doucoure a new 2 yr deal,
Keep Beto. I wouldn’t pay 20mil for lindstrom, but I’d pay 10mil. I’d take Harrison for 5mil if Leeds don’t come up. Just some if takes I’ve seen and heard from Everton fans over the last few months
