Most probably they way we play has something to do with it—-when we attacked with a bit of spirit and aggression the volume of sound increased noticeably after we scored the penalty and a few minutes after that, but mostly we were not very good and the crowd didn’t have a lot to inspire them.
I get that but sadly we aren't that good so may aswell try and enjoy last few games at Goodison and have a good sing rather than sat/stood in silence waiting for the likes of Doucoure and Harrison to do something haha
The atmosphere across the entire season has been far more subdued than in previous years.

it definitely felt like a dead rubber today. thought gana apart from helping them on their way to scoring was class again. pickford was class that save although would of been chalked off today was unreal. early kick offs are pooh though roll on next season and hopefully let the good times roll

I think there is an element of crisis fatigue about the place. We have spent so long living on nervous energy due to the threat of relegation, there was bound to be a burn out eventually. I think some decent summer signings, the new ground and the departure of some of our poorer performers will reinvigorate the crowd for next season.

1) Our players are mostly rubbish and we know it. When Doucoure, Harrison or Beto get the ball then you expect them to lose it more than do anything with it... and they do as predicted.
2) Specific to today, Arsenal are really really boring. Just keep the ball in non-dangerous areas and take an eternity to do anything... Build-up play, taking corners, taking freekicks, getting back up off the floor, making subs... Everything.

How many times did Arsenal players go down in that match? They were pathetic for a team placed second in the league, going down every two minutes, often with minimal contact.
We played worse today than in the Merseyside Derby, but on the whole can't complain with the result. Branthwaite's tackle in the first half was superb, you won't see many better than that anywhere - probably my highlight of the day.

I can agree with that. We’re safe now, and I think people have taken a collective ‘sigh’ and are having a period of relative relaxation.
I know I am.
2) modern football. I find Liverpool to be the same. Yes they will win the league but this season will never be remembered. I can’t even remember any good goals because everyone is told don’t have a shot from thirty yards. Rather pass the ball back to your centre back. At Goodison VVD and Konate just kept passing sidewards to each other, was so boring to watch.
