Yeah but people like Dave aren't waiting and seeing are they? So we are compelled to fight his negativity with positively.

What do you think would happen if Goodison held 40000 Daves on a match day?

Did they do something similar with Roma? As in, bringing people onto the board who aren’t actually footballing people but are more general businessmen? It feels like they’re building for the future with this group, and I buy into the theories people have been putting forward about using Everton as a way to get involved in the redevelopment of the area around the new stadium. I just hope that whatever the internal structure of Everton is under this new board, there’s a clear plan of responsibility and accountability as that’s the only way things will actually change.

No, they spent a lot of money delisting the club - Roma was publicly traded - and now they own 100% of the shares.

But I don't think this can be considered as a statement of intent. Perhaps they didn't find minority investors for Roma. I also think that, as long as TFG retains a solid majority of shares, having minority shareholders who help sustaining the financial burden might be a good thing.

I never heard of this guy, I guess it's welcome.

It's not "jobs for the boys" it seems more like "opportunities to join the ownership group for prominent Texans who have expertise and/or cash to contribute".

I suppose that's progress of a sort. This might work if these type of people spend 1 or 2 days a year looking at the clubs operations, and holding the executive team to account. We've never had that in the modern era on the business side at least - proper accountability and consequences for non-delivery. We need some devils advocates in there rather than happy clappers.

I hope Friedkins private jet is big enough, when all the folks decide to fly in from Houston. Wonder if there'll be much more of this, maybe a few yet to come.
Agree with this. Never heard of him or the cat announced yesterday.

But it feels like we're bringing in serious people who know how to run a sports business - not the chairman's mates.

Fondly remember being called a misogynist for doubting whether DBB was actually 'the best in the business'.

Well thats a surprise.

I dont think its particular useful to us, but what it DOES is show the appeal Everton and the new ownership group currently have. To have a NBA HOFer join up for even just a small part of the ownership group is a bit of star power and maybe a sign bigger names will follow. Of course Kidd is also from Texas, like the new minority billionaire.
Tom Brady at Birmingham didnt end up especially well

What do the fanbase think of them?

Do they after a few years see them in a positive light?
