Match Thread Everton 3-0 Doncaster Rovers - EFL Cup Second Round - Tue 27 Aug 7:45pm

Last time someone scored a goal like Ndiaye’s? Lukaku v Chelsea in the cup maybe? Honestly can’t think of the last time a player received the ball, spun his man and drove into the box and applied a finish!

OMG just saw the goal. Haven't seen us score a goal like that since Lukaku Get this guy in the starting lineup in the league immediately

I'm betting he had more seasons under his belt though than the ones below him.

2 highest PL scorer in the last 30 years for Everton. Only bettered by Lukaku, since Andrei in 96.

10 years ago we signed Et'o and had Lukaku. This season we can't even convince DCL to stay. Club's a disaster.

    James was pretty big.

When is the last time we brought in a notable player on deadline day it seems like awhile like going back to martinez's first season with Lukaku and Barry but I'm sure it hasn't been that long ....

    Dyche out Moyes in.

Absolutely. I always thought he worked harder/more effectively than most other managers

    Dyche out Moyes in.

Had an eye for talent as well. Seems to remember him picking up on Lukaku and maybe Essien before getting gazumped by Chelsea

In relation to the 'create your own chances' which was what i replied to originally it is clear as day he doesn't get the service. Those players movement in the box is better but they also know their team-mates will find them. We clearly don't work on a range of attacking patterns of play. Each...

Watkins movement is excellent, but agree he's not Messi. I don't think Lukaku has led a counter attacking charge for about 5 years, like the goal he got vs City fir us. Haaland as you say doesn't go on mazy runs, but his movement is streets ahead of Dom's in the box. Have to agree, not one of...

The vast majority of their goals are directly assisted. Haaland possibly has the least touches of the ball in the league Watkins does more than the other two but isn't as good a finisher and besides that, they all play in teams that have other attackers making clever runs and making space. Dom...

Ollie Watkins does it, Lukaku did it, Haaland does it, do I really need to name the people in the same position that get on the ball and make something happen??

His shadow is about twice as big now though, loved the pasta in Italy by the looks of it

DCL is a different type of striker to what they have already at the club, he is good in the air and good to hold up the ball and bring others into the game, with better players around him he could be effective. I don't think Lukaku is even a shadow of the player he was when playing for us.

    Everton Summer 2024 Transfer Thread

If you were Chelsea, why would you want DCL over Lukaku? They're not going to play either of them anyway
  17. J

    2024/25 Sean Dyche

...is "Kopite Behaviour". Things are a mess, long before Dyche came in. Nobody expects us to be winning every game, however it is reasonable to think we would replace Lukaku nearly 10 years after he left. Dyche is yet another Everton employee we have had, whose more interested in his ego than club.

Don't think he'd want to come here regardless but what an improvement he would be. We couldn't get near his wages for starters.

Imagine Lukaku in this Everton team? McNeil and Harrison on either wing, I can see the fume now

Not having that horrible, bell Chilwell anywhere near the club.
