    Happy New Manager Day

There's no need to announce him as the new manager. He just continues in caretaker mode and the club saves money while still keeping options open.

    Happy New Manager Day

Does anyone here know how many have actually applied for the job and who they are? Probably not, I think.

Hating every managerial name put forward

Giving kids a chance is one thing, but that's taking it a bit far.

And he'd be cheaper. Already working here and imagine how much the new manager is going to be paid.

Who's next after Benitez - Poll reset 25th Jan

That's what we need to remember. Whether we're being run well or badly the people in charge are currently in temporary custody. As it is, they knew they'd put Ferguson in charge while they looked for a permanent replacement. I was happy with some, not all of our recent choices but I'm not...

    Niko Kovač managerial candidate

First I've heard of it. Does he speak English?

    Niko Kovač managerial candidate

All that sounds good, but then, you said he was handsome. Ja think? I think it's important that whoever gets the job speaks English. Does he?

    Kia Joorabchian

Not according to Wiki. Between $1ml and $5ml net. Not much for a 50 year old

    Kia Joorabchian

What is Joorabchian supposed to be good at? He hasn't made much money in his life in football according to Wikipedia,

    Vitor Pereira

He sounded a very attractive proposition to me when he was in the running for the job when Moyes left. Not so sure, now

Who's next after Benitez - Poll reset 25th Jan

I really worry about rushing in for a new manager. We have a squad assembled by six different managers, including Moyes who all had different ideas about what they were trying to do. I'm not even going to call them plans. It's a mish mash. The safest thing to do is to keep Ferguson in the role...

Match Thread Everton v Aston Villa - Preview, Match Report & MotM Poll

It would've been a better season just with James in the squad, and I'm not interested in hearing those who say he didn't want to be here. He was on good money, not playing in Qatar and would almost certainly still be here if not for Benitez' stubborn stupidity.

Match Thread Everton v Aston Villa - Preview, Match Report & MotM Poll

There's been a buzz from pundits about Villa's football since Gerrard got there, but their results aren't great. Won one of their last five, I think. Coutinho is being hyped up, but he couldn't get into a struggling Barcelona team very often and he scored an easy tap in last week. We still...

Yes, I was. Not having a go at your pub, just a bit of fun and I hope you enjoy the match.

Who's next after Benitez - Poll reset 25th Jan

We've got a match early on Saturday and Ferguson will be in charge with Baines. We won't be able to judge them with a real view to the future, but it'll be encouraging if we see some spark and effort. I've forgotten what that's like.

And as I said, not necessarily.

Who's next after Benitez - Poll reset 25th Jan

Maybe not. They'd have a few names in mind but if they can't land one in the next couple of days , or at all, Ferguson is the obvious option.

Who's next after Benitez - Poll reset 25th Jan

It'd be a fluke if we took on a manager now who turned out to be a good, long term appointment, so why rush into it? All I want now is to stay up and I'd be quite comfortable with Ferguson in for the rest of the season. Luckily, we're not in a desperate, end of March relegation struggle and...
