    2021/22 Jarrad Branthwaite

He was badly positioned and clumsy rather than deliberate, but it struck me as odd that he was playing central and not in his usual position of left centre back of a three. Maybe it was to get support from both Coleman and Holgate, but having the more experienced Holgate in the central position...

A dilemma. We’ve been so crap at times , we need changes . I like Warrington, I just don’t feel he’s ready to make a step up next season in either PL or getting us out of the Championship.

He certainly offers something different in terms of his energy, and carrying the ball forward from the back. It’s League2 stuff so we can’t get carried away but he‘s earned a further contract - and refreshingly from his Tweets he’s committed to our club and the relegation fight.

The above , but take out “ It’s a Grand Old Team to Support” replace with “ Spirit of the Blues “ either inside the circle or around the outside. Leave “ GOT” in place to denote the origin.

Cool, you’re faster than Rondon , can you make the bench Sunday? Its a strange business with Academy players , we could lose two of our best u16s which doesn’t seem right , but could be poaching another Academy’s player. Views then differ , depending on which end of the transaction you are on...

Well he’s done well at u21s for England which will help him with Southgate, ….but I don’t believe he’s ready yet for a full place in his squad . Our whole team has played well recently and I wouldn’t say he’s stood out and England have other players who are scoring more goals out there. A...

And in other news… in their last PL2 game of the season Chelsea u23s scored two goals in the last 10 mins to win 2-1 at home to Spurs, thus saving themselves and relegating Leeds u23s.

Spirit of The Blues at Leicester today

GOT for me sounds dated these days, whereas Johnny Todd/ Z Cars is timeless. I would love to hear “ Spirit - the fans at Leicester “ version played 2 minutes before kick off, then just cut it off after a minute and let the crowd carry on.

Loved that game despite not having sound , Pickford was immense, but I gave my MoM to Doucoure , he seemed to be everywhere when needed , defending and driving forward with the ball for full 90 mins.

That would be sad, I‘m presuming that both have been offered Scholarships by now, but it’s difficult to compete with their Academy facilities, then come December for Lawrence we get into the “ Will he sign a pro contract or move on ?” situation. I try not to go overboard with these kids, and 15...

Indeed , who knows , but for me it’s got to be the right policy. Yep it probably affected u18/u23 results with more u18s playing u23 than ever before , but it cascades down in terms of opportunity e.g. Joe Anderson is a capable defender at u23 level but unfortunately not good enough. Playing...

Yeah I’m sure he picked up an injury , got a brief mention somewhere but nothing afterwards so maybe I’m wrong. We covered Katia Kouyate’s injury, maybe as it was more serious , but as you say we give little info out , it’s really hit and miss at times, no consistency.

I recall Apter started 3or4 early season but then disappeared for a while , I’m surprised with that total too. Nice to see those stats though, just getting accurate team sheets from our club is hard enough. Hopefully the three Schoolboys who were regulars can kick on again next season.

If they don’t beat Tottenham at home on Sunday then Chelsea get relegated. They still have a quality Academy with quality players , I haven’t followed them closely but it looks like they had too many good players out on loan. Maybe they just shrug their shoulders and accept relegation as a...

    2021/22 Anthony Gordon

We’ve seen earlier in the season, particularly his free kick for Branthwaite’s goal against Chelsea , that he can deliver but frustratingly he’s so inconsistent with free kicks and corners. Those right side corners which go out of play and back in are an example. But we know he can strike the...
