    2022/23 Conor Coady

He usually is for me. Think Tarkowski can be a bit sloppy with his passing (short, his long passing is great) and gets caught out on occasion. Think Coady has barely put a foot wrong so far. I didn't particularly rate either of them before they came, though, so glad to be wrong twice haha

    2022/23 Dwight McNeil

If panic signings can be a thing in July... he was a panic signing. Edit: I do thing some are being a tad OTT in their criticism of him, but he's really not offering much atm besides a decent corner. Weak, one footed without a lot of pace, gonna be hard for him to influence things at this level...

    2022/23 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Similar to Yerry at this point.

    2022/23 Neal Maupay

Well, Maupay has probably been available all summer, so it could have been done weeks ago... but that's a conversation for another time ha.

    2022/23 Neal Maupay

Yeah, it's obviously shoddy on our part. But if we were playing tomorrow, he'd be in the team. Surely some allowance could have been made, given the PL's part in scheduling four games tonight. Not to mention, pretty much all PL games are played on non-working days/non-working hours.

    2022/23 Anthony Gordon

Have you never been eyeing up another job and still enjoying the company of your current colleagues haha? Hardly gonna have a cob on when at worst he gets a new bumper contract at the club he's at.

Everton Summer Transfer Thread - 2022

I also think if we go ahead in matches, we'll see the game out more often than not. It's just having the players to put the ball in the net as you say.

    2022/23 Amadou Onana

Felt very Gbamin away at Wolves last year. If Lampard knew he wasn't fit enough, why throw him on in a two man midfield. Think he went into his shell a little bit after the first couple of mistakes on the ball. He'll be sound though, especially if we can get Gueye in alongside him and Iwobi...

    2022/23 Anthony Gordon

My feelings on Gordon is that he's exactly where he ought to be in terms of his development. You see flashes, but he's unpolished and a team that wants to stay in the division shouldn't be relying on his as their main source of creativity/goals. Think he could become a really good player in...

    2022/23 Anthony Gordon

Because they see a player with the raw materials to become a very good footballer and probably have the superior coaches to get something out of him. I don't think we do, hence why our academy products don't hit the heights we all think they will when they first come through (Davies, Barkley...

    2022/23 Anthony Gordon

Whether it's a good deal probably depends on how you reinvest that money. But two things: - If Gordon didn't play for us, how many would be demanding we sign him for any significant fee, let alone £50m - And he has a load of potential and could go on to be a very good player. But it is just...

    2022/23 Yerry Mina

Why on earth does he keep doing it btw? Experienced player picking up injuries when he does daft shimmies that he doesn't need to do. You'd think he'd learn.

    Confirmed Signing Idrissa Gueye

Definitely improves the team, but in two years him, Allan and Doucoure are all gone/out of contract. That's yet another overhaul in the midfield that we mightn't be able to afford.

    Transfer Rumour Maxwell Cornet

Playing mostly as a LB/LWB though right? His goals and assists stats when he's playing LW/RW/CF are pretty consistent across two separate leagues tbf to him. Not massively excited by him but he improves the squad and plays several positions. Would like him to cost a little less though.

    2021/22 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

You can make an excuse for why every player scores their goals but regardless of everything going on around him, I can't see how any player scores so many tap ins without good movement. In doing so, you're literally putting yourself in a position where the ball is travelling and where there is...

    2021/22 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Yeah.. and gets to the ball before all of them because of his intelligent movement.
  17. S

    2021/22 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

You don't score the kinds of goals Dominic Calvert-Lewin does without good off the ball movement. Strange criticism.

    2021/22 Anthony Gordon

What puzzles me is if we were going to play a back 5 all night, why we didn't start one of him or Gray on the bench (as both desperately need a rest) to bring them on for the last 25 minutes with fresh legs. We're running our creative outlets (who aren't exactly prolific in terms of creativity...

    2021/22 Dele Alli

That game was crying out for him. Can't believe we didn't adjust the formation to get him in midfield.

    Points deducted

Isn't that historically true of Everton too haha? Never won a cup under a Labour government I think I've heard before (can't be bothered to check, so please correct me if I'm wrong).
