+£75m since the 2021/2022 season (positive net spend in each individual season). "Selling big and buying small since August 2021."

    2023/24 Sean Dyche

Gotta keep Pickford and Branthwaite at almost any cost. I'm convinced that if we lose either of them we'll go down next season. Conversely if we keep them both then I would be confident we'd stay up EVEN if we were handed another points deduction. I'm equally confident that Dele Alli will never...

    2023/24 Sean Dyche

No, I don't know either. Let's wait until Dyche is in control of recruitment before we start blaming him for the Club's terrible recruitment activity. Until Thelwell departs, it's Thelwell's responsibility.

How much say does Dyche have in terms of recruitment?

Potentially yes... But he arrived at Luton on a free and he's been there since February 2021. He might want a move and the club may need to cash in while they can - I've no idea what their financial position is. A lot could also rest on other clubs showing interest.

I took a look on Transfermarkt... Adebayo: 10 goals in 1250 mins over 25 appearances, 26 years old DCL: 7 goals + 1 assist in 2032 mins over 30 appearances, 27 years old. Beto: 3 goals in 939 minutes over 29 appearances, 26 years old. Presuming Luton go down, we could do a lot worse than...

    Summer 2024 transfer thread.

"Name a player you never want to see sign for Everton under any circumstances whatsoever." Maguire is a simply absurd suggestion. He's flawed in all the same ways as Michael Keane and is on bigger wages. There is absolutely no reason to take him as part-payment in any deal. Given the presence...

    The Hard Yards

Hard work beats talent, if talent doesn't work hard. Hard working talent will beat hard work that lacks talent. The hard yards aren't optional. They are the work you put in to defend, prevent the opposition scoring and ultimately get the ball back. They are the effort you devote in training...

    Summer 2024 transfer thread.

Vastly? DCL has played twice as many minutes as Beto and scored twice as many goals. That's not "vastly better". It is in fact proportionally identical. I'm not saying DCL is a bad player. I'm not saying Beto (or Chermiti) is "better". I'm simply pointing out that: - we are in financial...

Try. I've already given you the numbers mate. DCL: 1900 minutes, six goals one assist. Beto: 900 minutes, three goals. Make your argument.

    Summer 2024 transfer thread.

I would question how much more useful DCL is than Beto right now. I would question whether we have actually seen enough of Beto to accurately write him off as crap. And if he is indeed crap, we should be selling him and hoping to get our money back. I would question how anyone expects Chermiti...

    Summer 2024 transfer thread.

DCL has absolutely never been a Ferrari. DCL had 1000 extra minutes on the pitch compared to Beto - that's 11 entire games. In all that time, he scored three extra goals. A serious club run responsibly would be open to bids of £30m+ for DCL at this point.

The Four Months Though Lads - Worse than Mike Walker

Pretty simplistic thinking too. This winless run is longer than any winless run from last season. This season's points total is significantly better than last season and was achieved with a weaker squad. The length of the winless run has therefore had zero negative effect. I don't LIKE the...

    Summer 2024 transfer thread.

Chermiti has played 156 minutes in 15 appearances since joining us. 13 of those 15 appearances have been coming off the bench for ten minutes or less. He's 19. Beto has played 929 minutes across 28 appearances. He's made nine starts and scored 3 goals. He's 26. DCL has played 1952 minutes...

We already bought two. Beto and Chermiti. Do we already have a replacement for Pickford, Branthwaite or Onana?
  16. Tree13

    Summer 2024 transfer thread.

Selling Onana won't generate much in the way of profit (because his book value is high), and we lose a percentage of any profit to Lille. In addition to that, we have other midfielders going out of contract who frankly we don't want back... So we lack the depth to sell Onana without creating a...

The Four Months Though Lads - Worse than Mike Walker

I don't quite follow the line of thinking here. This awful winless run exists, yes. Not denying that. But look at it within the context of the season as a whole, and comparing this season with last season. Last season's points and league position were WORSE than this season. But we didn't...

Ok, fair point regarding Large Samuel in terms of points and league position. Still hate him for some of the abysmal recruitment during his tenure, however.

That's more or less what my reaction was the first time I went to Goodison, and I was about thirty years older than your kid!

The Four Months Though Lads - Worse than Mike Walker

Utterly bananas to think that Everton fans can look at the club in its current state, the paper thin squad, the absence of pace out wide, the lack of depth at fullback, the multiple points deductions, the awful League campaigns going back several years, the prolonged terrible player recruitment...
