This is by I can’t see mad money being spent again. So any hope of getting crazy high fees for Onana and Branthwaite are probably a bit fanciful. That and coupled with the fact that Thelwell has openly declared we are set for a fire sale.
Earlier in the season it was apparent that less than 30 points would be enough to stay up. And so it’s proven to be. Horrific standard of promoted teams. Then City winning the league again. All very boring.
It’s quite damning on the bottom three that even if we were to go into administration and get 9 points docked we’d still be safe.
Part of me can’t escape the feeling that we need some of the same calibre in the league next season.
He deserves a lot of credit for sure. That shouldn’t disguise that the football is atrocious the majority of the time. But needs must at the moment. Needs some pace and flair brought in in the summer that’s for sure. If possible of course.
