Having said all that, I'd actually like to watch a top level rugby match. The city of Liverpool has had rugby league teams in the past: Liverpool Stanley RFC, Liverpool City RFC, which morphed into Huyton RFC. It's not completely alien but it hasn't got the interest of scousers generally speaking.

IMO we have to establish our own identity down at the docks first and foremost. We dont want to be known for being the home of EFC and rugby league. Money cant be allowed to compromise identity. Anyway, I'm sure it's a one off.

Yes, it was best all round he left when he did. But the reality is we were helped to safety by Dyche in his first one and a half seasons, and he left us free of the relegation zone with about a 70% chance of survival this season...as it turned out that was almost 100% certain we'd survive in...

Amazing to think that even now, two and a half months after Dyche left, we'd still be out of the relegation zone with what he left us on. We were in no danger whatsoever of going down under Dyche. We'd have been on about 27 points by now and well clear.

I just dont want it to be synonymous with our stadium when we dont even have a presence there ourselves yet. OT and Anfield had massive histories at those stadiums so it meant next to nothing identity-wise when rugby games appeared there.

I think once every year will be enough. I always cringed for Man Utd when they were the venue for the big Challenge Cup final (or whatever it was called).
