Crystal Palace and the Europa League

I don't know the legal arguments for and against in this case (because it bores me rigid) but Palace will be allowed to play in Europe as the football authorities are toothless. Don't get me wrong, i think Palace deserve to be there and i'm happy for them, but it's about time that rules became...

    2024/25 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

As all the best goals do. At least my 2 goals per season did, back in the day

    2024/25 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

He's rubbish, and he always has been. It was just wishful thinking that convinced some that he'd become an ace slotter once he'd beefed up/slimmed down/was injury free/had better service/got more confident/had some Angel Delight/etc

    "Everton That" moments

That was an 'anti-Everton that' moment. It forced Moyes to play Nigel Martyn and then he finaaly realised what the rest of us had known for ages, that Wright was absolute tosh (with an added bonus that Martyn was still excellent).

    The ‘past their best’ XI

Walcott was rubbish when we signed him but, then again, he was rubbish circa 2006 to 2010. He had pace to burn, but no footballing brain to know what to do with it. That's why he was never more than a bit part player at Arsenal.

Match Thread Everton 2-0 Southampton. Sun May 18th. 12 pm

I'm just relieved that they got the point they needed against Man City

Which player, in hindsight, do you think regrets leaving the club ?

Hmm, i don't agree. Sitting watching others pay/win rather than doing it yourself. That's the problem with the brand names and the media supported myth that it's somehow an honour to be chosen by them, even if it's just to collect the dirty laundry at the end of a match

    "Everton That" moments

This is the definitive one - you could add 'forgetting to take our 40 goal a season striker's favourite boots to the last away game' to it

But two of those were positives

ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

I usually visit my brother on a Sunday afternoon and we'll watch the late afternoon (16:30) Sky match - unless it's the RS. Last Sunday it was them (versus a 'good as relagated Leicester), this Sunday it's them (v Spurs, nowt riding in that one), following Sunday is Chelsea v RS and the one...

Match Thread Everton 0-2 Man City. Sat April 19th. 3pm

I feel that it's a bit of an overreaction on here. We don't score many and our results are (mainly) based on a mean defence. Once we concede we are up against it. Yesterday we held out for 84 minutes and had a few decent half-chances ourselves. A combination of low scoring, losing our best...

    2024/25 Abdoulaye Doucoure

His inability to make a 5 yard pass can be annoying and frustrating, but he does bring something to the team that we miss when he's not there (energy, pressing, just being an nuisance for the opposition). I don't think it's a coincidence that he's been a mainstay of the team for most managers...

Are Notts Forest a bigger club than Everton?

I don't know how to measure which club is bigger than which, but i do know that my dad is bigger than your dad

    Is Premier League Boring?

Yes. The obscene amounts of money paid for getting to the Champions League have created a gap between the have's and the have nots that gets bigger every year. The less places a domestic league gets in the CL, the worse it is. For Example, Celtic will probably get £30 million for qualifying...

and we qualified when 'they' changed the rules and let the RS in because they cried that 'we wanna defend our trophy' (even though they knew before they kicked a ball in that trophy winning campain, that it wouldn't be enough to get them into the CL)

    2024/25 Beto

I meant that i never claimed to be a good judge. Regardless of that, i remain to be convinced of Beto. He's impoved since his (lack of game) time under Dyche, but his misses, when through one on one, since the Brentford game (and there's been a fair few) are concerning

    2024/25 Beto

That's like saying DCL didn't miss all those one on ones when he hit it tamely straight at the keeper. Die Beto score? No. Then he missed.
