    2023/24 Nathan Patterson

Whoever replaces him will have the same team. Whoever replaces him will have us in a relegation fight. Why? Well, because like I've been saying for long before Dyche. This team is relegation fodder. It's not got the goals in it and that dictates bad news. So if Dyche is here next season, we...

    2023/24 Nathan Patterson

We've gone through prolonged relegation form for 3 years now. Maybe we're just a bit crap? A team that should be around 15th in the league. I'd have taken that before the season, I'd take it now and I'd take it again next season. I'd take just having any sort of plan A. I'm not sure we have...

    2023/24 Nathan Patterson

To be fair - it has kept us up without deductions that weren't on him. Surprised by comparisons to Benitez and Allardyce considering we sat 19th with Arsenal, RS coming up and universally wrote off as "down" when he come in. If he keeps us up - I'll always be grateful.
  4. GrandOldTeam

    2023/24 Nathan Patterson

I was saying we don't have capable full backs before Dyche - especially in the final third so I can't blame him now for seeing the same. If we had Digne/Baines not crossing the half way line I'd be slating him. As is, he's playing % football to keep us in the league. Its not pretty but I'll...

Whoever wrote it with that claim. Assume columnist?
  6. GrandOldTeam

    2023/24 Sean Dyche

It's who would replace him. It's also what it's like behind the scenes. If he has lost respect/it's iffy behind the scenes like Koeman, then yes. All about staying in the league - whatever gives us the best odds of that. For me, it feels Dyche or a Baines/Coleman interim. I think Dyche gives...

    2023/24 Sean Dyche

We're on a terrible run, one which deserves scrutiny. But has he earned more points in his first full season on the pitch than the last two seasons? If he keeps us up, as he already would have done without deductions - then it's a brilliant achievement all considered. Surviving relegation is...

Must admit, I was pretty pleased in December.

Reckon thats a complete nonsense to be honest.
  10. GrandOldTeam

    2023/24 Nathan Patterson

He's playing how we are out of necessity/pragmatism. We don't have full backs who can attack. Other than maybe Patterson, but % football, IMO, has dictated Dyche has not been willing to sacrifice stability at the back for full backs who can't cross a ball. To be fair to Dyche he achieved this...

The poll asks who they'd like to see. Neither have been confirmed as ruled out, yet. Dyches press conference is tomorrow when he'll provide an injury update.

  14. GrandOldTeam

    2023/24 Nathan Patterson

I've seen Patterson beat a man and cross a ball. I'm convinced he can offer us something going forward that would help. The likes of this, albeit U21 - a pacey, accurate cross; and this against Sheff Utd; ... watch that. I dont think any other full back we have can give us that. The engine...
  15. GrandOldTeam

    2023/24 Nathan Patterson

Only Wolves scored less than us last season. Only Sheff Utd have scored less than us this season. 19th and 19th for goals scored then. Being so poor at scoring goals dictates relegation scrap. A big part of being unable to score goals is we have full backs who offer absolutely sod all going...

Match Thread Everton v Nottingham Forest - Pre-Match Chat, Match Report & MotM Poll

No good when you run a fan site! "What do you mean you dont want an Everton jigsaw?...." I had an email campaign drafted and ready to go in December to send when we next won. By the time we beat Burnley, I'd forgot about it lol

Just checked and not quite - because Speed was sold after 24 games, and Stuart after 17. But the reality is that team you consider our worst, scored more than this team has for years now, and achieved more points.

Already responded. There's a few like Speed and Stuart who is missing from your list - sold that season, but still scored 10 goals for us. For me, Speed, Stuart, Barmby, Hutchinson all walk into this team - as does Ferguson. Tbf, I'd have Watson and Short in ahead of Tarkowski too. That team...
