I'm not sure anyone ever claimed that's what FFP was designed to do. They weren't pulling the wool over people's eyes, they were fine with the idea that it stacks the chips heavily in the favour of clubs like Utd and Liverpool. That was the whole point.
The bloke's biased because they got absolutely hammered. He thinks what we've done is worse than what they got hammered for, which is clearly very silly. Well worth ignoring.
If the Premier League get their way it will be £40m over though, and if that is the case the PSR for 2022/23 would be £78m, despite the money for Gordon. The PSR for 23/24 would need to be £17m; it's not exactly a stretch to be worried about it given the club's shanking money hand over foot.
They will still apply for this year's accounts. Question is will points deductions be used. Clubs will still be wary about massive signings in June, but some clubs are protected from it all so it should be possible to sell.
I absolutely agree with you about sporting advantage, I think it's nonsense, but how would you define inferred? It means they concluded there was one, it doesn't mean they weren't sure about it. Not the same as implied, I guess I'm saying.
Two deductions in one season despite relating to different seasons is incredibly unfair. Everyone knows it. There'll forever be an asterisk against this season, no matter what happens from now.
I don't think there's a chance they would take two points off the deduction, like in Forest's case, if we continually moaned about it. Best to do the moaning afterwards in my view.
That's the point though, isn't it? That's just being a rumour; the strengthening is in the number of people telling x amount of other people what they've heard, rather than any sense of trustworthiness.
