How are we tapping up? Swansea have said a fee and stuck to it it's then down to us and them to sort it out. We don't need to get him to hand in a transfer request as they are willing to sell
Him

It's a grey area mate. If we approach a player at another club without that club's permission, weve tapped up. You don't get permission if you havent agreed a fee. Swansea publicly declaring what they'd accept makes no difference to that.

As I understand it, if he hands in a transfer request it can change the negotiation since the buying club may get a low offer agreed aa the selling club saves money through not having to pay out the player's contract (or 'loyalty bonus' - 3 years in Siggi's case). It's a gamble for the player to do that not knowing if the buyer will compensate him to some degree - so there would always be a suspicion of contact.

If the distance between the clubs is only £5m, then this could make the difference between the deal happening or not.

We made a bid for Gylfi of £40m plus £5m in addons. It's been verified by Sky and several other sources. Swansea rejected the bid.

Tapping up is when your manager with his arl buckteeth, decides to take you out for the day and tell you "it's defo our year la, we promise this time. There'll be NO slip ups"

Was reported all over Twitter that that was the offer. Some divs saying it was accepted, (some saying it was excepted tbh), others saying it wasn't. We ain't gonna know about this one until he's at FF taking a medical. Now where was that fella that used to hang out in the bushes for us?

He got banned for telling us the wrong sandwich filler options.

I'm in favour of paying the extra £5m. That's what we got for one of Rom's toes.
£50m player bought by Everton. Never thought I'd see the day.
