Personally thing it should be raised to 15 or possibly 20, just clutters up the thread with extra pages to trawl though, I think you get a greater sense of dialogue when you can fit more posts on one page, less need for quoting back and forth e.t.c

Any particular reason why it's set so low?

You can change it to suit yourself in the settings mate, I've got mine on 40.
