I would love it if we were to take the Grand Final away from Old Trafford. This year's Grand Final was actually the first I have attended and I thought that the Old Trafford facilities were sub-standard for such an occasion. My seat was in the Stretford End and I felt as though supporters were being crammed into their seats with very little space, making for an uncomfortable experience. Add to that the small scoreboards, lack of a big screen and its general dullness and you end up with a poor experience. Now let's make the second test a special night and steal the grand final from that shed in Manchester
The main issues with moving it to Hill Dickinson Stadium would be the reduction in capacity and its location (further away from Yorkshire of course). Old Trafford's main advantages are its capacity and fairly central location along the M62 corridor. Our facilities are (unsurpringly) far better and the Ashes match will certainly demonstrate that.
