Goodbye Goodsion 'Exhibition' Liverpool Museum

Sounds like they’ve really missed a trick here.
Just simple stuff like a pair of headphones to listen to a recording of booing on a loop while you walk through the exhibits.
Display of THOSE bolt croppers.
The bogey from that ladies hair.
Even a Photo Booth where you can be pictured in a headlock by a mystery assailant.

I mean that’s just off the top of my head and I’m not even renown for my historical curation.

Not going to lie and i know its tongue in cheek, but I'd love a display of the bolt cutters, along with a just stop oil t shirt and Alex Iwobi's shirt

What do you mean by 'they counted down the games'? By putting a post on twitter?
Yeah they plaster it all over social media and the website, they say it and put in the screens at the game, the media have been briefed to mention it all the time. Every game is 'only x amount of games left at Goodison, the last time we'll play Arsenal at Goodison, the last game under the lights at Goodison, the last FA cup game at Goodison, the last 3pm kick off at Goodison, the last junior fan day at Goodison (!)' etc. Like I said, I get that some people evidently wanted more in terms of events or whatever but it's really not like it's been allowed to pass without comment, it's been absolutely hammered all season.

I wouldn't bother, genuinely

Went along on Sunday looking forward to a good bit of nostalgia and to soak up all the feelings about leaving Goodison

It was 12 photo's on a wall 'advertising' said photographers of people stood outside a chippy or some kid in a bobble hat. All from the last few months.

Would of been interesting if it was a small part of a larger more purposeful exhibition, but half bothered few photos, were i hate to say it, if it was farewell to Anfield, the whole museum would of been taken over

Thanks for the heads up, and I will not bother to view this.

We are viewed as some strange anachronistic throwback, a bit of an embarrassment.

There is also :

Alongside the physical exhibition, the museum will offer additional content online, including a podcast episode featuring former players, managers, and club figures who have been part of Goodison Park’s long history. Visitors can also view an extended collection of images and share their own memories and experiences of the stadium.

You put it like that i do agree, it has been thrown out there.

But i don't really see that as much substance, its a bit like this 'exhibition' I've mentioned. It's all a bit 'meh' and amateurish. You can get the work experience kid to put all the social media stuff out there, pretty straight forward.

Saying stuff is one thing (which i agree, has been done) but any actual 'proper' events....nothings been done

I suppose as Elvis has said ' a little less conversation a little more action please'

….thanks for the heads-up, I’m sure there’ll be better accounts on here, not forgetting the pictures @Joey66

I’d also give another shout out to Steve Zocek ‘Goodison Memories’ Book, it’s a fantastic read with stories of Goodison from amazing diversity of sources. It’s an essential reference for all Evertonians and I’d urge any poster who hasn’t got one to order a copy from @alan ball.
I got a book of the club just started it - great reading - In the early 1920s Liverpool women played St Helens Women at Goodison park - it attracted quite a huge attendance & the FA immediately banned such professional games - they only returned in 1970 .......

I started reading this last night and my initial impression was that the author has done an excellent job of peeling back the layers of history surrounding the stadium, even painting a picture of its opening for an athletics event (something I had not known about previously).

The book is well-sourced and stretches to as recently as last season's Merseyside Derby victory at Goodison. I look forward to reading it further.
The athletics event was just staged to commemorate the opening, it was opened for a specific athletic event.
