My entree to all things Blue began in 66. The first two weeks of the 66/67 season I went to GP three times. The first time I couldn’t get in, that was the Charity shield match against the RS, and despite asking for spares for an hour as a 10 year old, couldn’t get one. 11 days later a home league game against Man U, my one and only time in the old boys pen, paid cash at the turnstile, the view from the cage was awful and we lost 2-1, never went there again! Four days later back at GP for our home league derby game against the RS, I’m in the Goodison terrace (it was massive) thanks to a neighbour (Cockburn street, Dingle) who got me a ticket and took me. I’m sitting on a terrace bar and we win 3-1, my all time EFC hero, Alan Ball scores twice! 56 years later I’m now a pensioner STH fan in the upper bullens! Enjoyed our win today Blueboys!! UTFT!!!
