has anyone dealt with them before.

been with them for a month now, and had an accident in my car on tuesday night. been trying to report the accident now for 2 days, and its impossible to get in touch with the claims department.

i have been left on hold for 60 mins, 80 mins , and currently on the phone again right now, and its been 30 mins.

I did get through to someone late last night but it was a 3rd party company who just took my details and said someone would be in touch before the weekend, this is just not acceptable.

basically my car had an electrical fault and went on fire. the whole engine bay is burnt out, and the car is still left at the location of the accident

any advise would be good.

Balance quality against price when choosing your insurance company?

Console yourself with a couple of pasties and a bottle of tango from Sayers. Good luck pal, be persistant and hope it works out as I know you love your cars.

Christ they sound awful.

I always stick to big companies, they pull your pants down price wise, but they are mostly there when you need them.

Hope it works out for you mate, but its not sounding good.

I have no advice, other than pray.

right .... finally had some contact with them.. got my car picked up on monday, and they are evaluating it .

still takes forever to get in touch, and today had the best news of the lot.

right my excess was 400, but since im under 30 they bumped it up to 600.. apparently in the terms and conditions.

added to that its a new policy, less than a month old. and apparently, if the car is written off the policy life ends with the life of the car, but the remainding months need to be paid as well. This is almost 600.

so basically its a brand new policy so they are stinging me 600 because of this.. have u ever heard such bullshit before.

my car is valued on parkers around 1700, so after all their [Poor language removed], based on parkers it would be 500 plus a claim against, in my pocket..

but since they seem complete cowboys, it will probably be less than that

this really doesnt seem right to me..

i never received any documents except the cover note, and joined them over the phone based on recommendations from gocompare.com

anyone got any advise here, because at the moment, it seems iv basically paid for fully comp insurance, and been stung and left with nothing!

oh and they wont provide a courtesy car, as the car is a write off and not getting repaired

hmmmm

They sound very dodgy

Hi all dont know if anyone can help. Have a car insurance policy with 1st Central insurance which i took out beginning of August on a monthly payment basis of £21 per month. I scanned and emailed my proof of previous NCB straight away to them as asked. A couple of weeks after they wrote to tell me that i still had not sent my proof of NCB so i resent the document. Never heard anything from them since but today find that my monthly payment has increase to £42 per month. Tried phoning them today but was just put on hold for an hour each time and then the call timed out. It got to the point where my telephone ran out of battery and i still hadnt got through to them. Im guessing they are going to say the reason why my premium has gone up is that i havent sent proof of NCB as this to me is the only that makes sense why the premium has gone up. Have emailed them but dont hold up too much hope of them answering it as they obviously didnt read my first two emails regarding proof of no claims
