2 blues brothers in india last winter

looking for a blue

Player Valuation: Free Transfer
i am a red but i come in peace ! i met 2 brothers last winter in kochi india , i can not remember names , we had a few beers and a good chat , very nice lads . late50s at a guess , originally from woolton / gateacre area , one of them lived in london , as i do ,these days and seemed a bit of a wheeler dealer , i remember he said "i sell anything to make a pound note" and that he was selling fish wholesale to restaurants. they were long term match going blues, one went to all the aways , from the city so i reckon someone on here might recognise description.

anyone else of a certain age from woolton will remember my grandad dr carl warner . anyway i have a nicely framed large original black and white photo of an everton team from 50s or 60s , cant dig it out right now to check date . it must have belonged to him as my dad is (was) a red, and he was a staunch blue. i would like to send it to the brothers if i can find them . lets face it , not a chance its going on my wall , and 3 charity shops didnt want it... jokes aside we had a chat about how toxic its got between reds and blues which makes me sad , as it wasnt always like this as us slightly older lot will remember. so its a small gesture from red to blue , plus my grandad would love that its back in the city.

i know its a bit of a long shot, but if anyone can help it would be great .

any chance of giving this a shot in the alehouse , maybe just for 24 hours ? like a lot of forums , quite a few people wont look at the new members forum as often as other parts of site . no problem if this is not possible , thanks a lot for leaving this up to read . (i did try messaging a mod but a pop up came up saying no spam) .

either way , if i cant find them , am happy to send it up (free of charge) to a blue pub in the city if they want to put it on the wall.

Notts Forest? Man U? Arsenal? Can't think of another red.

Good luck in your search. I hope you get the fiver back that you leant them. 😉

Seems like every red from years ago were from the south end.

There's defo a north end / south end split in Everton / Liverpool support, still.

obviously a historic game tonight , am giving this thread its last (and only) bump , if anyone is going to see it that can help , today is my best chance for obvious reasons ( more people on site ). big thank you to the moderator who allowed this , and the positive comments from a few . much appreciated .

i have also found a few little bits of bluenose bits and bobs , going through dads stuff , cigarette cards , articles etc . also found a sketch book he did from the 50s i think which has couple of nice drawing of goodison way back when he was a young lad growing up in pool . nice sketches of couple of old pubs and places long since gone . of course its a long shot that i find these lads from india , but sometimes long shots work, (gary mac anyone) ,if i cant find them i would love to find an everton mad pub , that might want to take them to stick up on the wall. as said , will send at no cost .

enjoy yourselves tonight boys and girls , hoping for a last minute salah screamer , now that origi has gone ...

thanks again blues and good luck at the new place

Time for something juvenile?

Forget all that, good luck with your quest, if you can find em, I reckon pitch the search to netflix for a new series. If it pays off, remember me fondly...

Still is 100%

I've lived in the south end most of my life (but dad's family were all from Scotty rd way originally) and I could never understand when I was at school how most of the blues I was friendly with were from the north end but I could count on the fingers of one hand the blues I knew from my end

Strange isn't it. I can only think that there might have been - I mean ages ago - a reluctance from someone from the south end to follow a team with the name of a north end district and preferred, therefore, to lend their support to one they could identify with.

Good luck in finding them @looking for a blue , but if you don't and your not sure of quite what to do, have you considered donating to the Everton Heritage foundation? @alan ball might be able to help with contacts.
thanks for this , just what i was hoping for . once the dust has settled whatever happens tonight , i will be getting in touch with alan . i will also put a copy of dads sketch up on here , in case anyone finds it of interest .

wish i was there tonight , not been back in pool for over 20 years , atmosphere should be off the scale .
