2024/25 Relegation Battle (Without Everton!)

If Branthwaite was playing in the Bournemouth, Villa and Leicester games, we probably end up with 7-9 points instead of 1 so we should have got more from those 3 games. We have been lucky in some games since then though.

Probably would've hung on the 1-0 at Leicester with him aswell, was a cheap goal to concede from a corner.

I think the best in the period coming up will be more low scoring draws. It will certainly be an achievement to just concede once v many of the imminent teams and Wolves and Forest at home which are the most winnable on paper could easily be 0-0s or 1-1s.

Got to win some home games from somewhere as could easily be 1 win from 10 from the first half of the season at home which must be approaching a record for so few home wins in first half of a season?

IF there are funds available in January, then the board must sack Dyche in the next fortnight and appoint a new manager who can have an opportunity to bring in some of their own players, work with the team and get us safe.

If there are no funds available in January, then I would keep Dyche and afford him the space to do what he’s already done in the past 2 seasons. The Football is dire but we simply must make it to BMD as a Premier League team.

If we flip the coin and think changing manager with this group of players will lead to anything other than failure, I think that’s desperately naive. We have no pace whatsoever, easily the slowest team in the league. No creativity. No striker. This team needs a root and branch approach (10-15 out & 10-15 in) with a new manager in the summer but the priority has to be to stay up.

The only way that happens with this group is good shape, keeping them well organised and difficult to beat, which we have been. We’re amongst the worst going forward but we’re (mostly) difficult to break down.

Yes with hindsight. He had had a slow start to the season and seemed to be slowing.

You kind of assume people would read between the lines and understand it to refer to that moment of time, but seemingly not. It appears you have to spell every connotation out.

I did clarify at the time what it referred to as well. But seemingly that gets missed as well!

I severely doubt some on here even read never mind understand context.

In his first half season here, we were 1 swing of Doucoure's boot from being relegated. That's not a job well done, that's Russian roulette going your way.

Last season, points deductions included, we were still better off than ShefU and Burnely who got 8 wins between them as two of the worst sides in Prem history. We don't have that luck this season, there are no 2 or 3 teams miles worse than us.

We're 1/3 of the way through this season, we've got 2 wins, scored 10 goals (joint 2nd lowest in the league), we've thrown away wins against the likes of Bournemouth and Leicester, failed to beat the likes of Saints and Brentford and West Ham and Fulham and now we've got a month of nightmare fixtures that could realistically return 0 points for a team that doesn't even look like it's been sent out to win a match half the time.

If you can't see the writing is on the wall with a guy whose primary focus and concern is on trying not to lose moreso than trying to win, then I don't know what to tell ya.

I don't think he's a poor manager. I remember them doing similar with Rodgers. It didn't work then

Under him Leicester are one of the three worst teams we’ve played this season. His Notts Forest teams were in that territory to. He’s not prem standard. Dyche is not either. They are bottom dwellers and thrive there in some people’s eyes. Eventually it catches up with them which is where we are now. Sack.

94th min goal against fulham. Lucky to get a point.
Gordon missing penalty at Goodison.
Clinging on at the end to a poor west ham side.
You take what you can but we could easly and some might say deserve to be on fewer points.
The lucky to come away with anything certainly tilts more than the of lucky not to come away with something.
Scary thing is last season early on i thought we were unlucky in games. Im not seeing that so far. We're a really poor side who lack any ideas.
Pickfords saved us and won us so many points already this season it’s a joke, we’ve been very lucky in so many games.

We’ve been garbage since the season started, especially tactically. Praying for three worse teams yet again is soul destroying.

Wolves and Palace will get out of it imo, they have managers who have game plans and are actively trying to win games as opposed to just not losing them.

Ipswich look good in spells and I like the manager, but muric is mince and could do for them.

Southampton play suicidal footy at the back, that will be their undoing, unless they change managers soon.

Have to hope Leicester sacking cooper doesn’t work, but it might, so were bang in the mix, sleepwalking into oblivion with the fraud who’s blaming everything and everyone but himself.
