2024/25 Relegation Battle (Without Everton!)

Appreciate that City will be seen as an easier target than normal but I wouldn’t underestimate the impact of getting three points out of the 3 games we just had in terms of our confidence the impact on morale of our the clubs in and around us. If we can hold on that with a victory against Forest we should be good for the season

Easier said than done against Forest. Got a bit of pace on the counter.

But it is a must win imo, we simply have to start picking up more home wins.

A whole calendar year has now passed for away games and we've won 1 away game against Ipswich.

Unbeaten in the last 3 are decent points.
Such a shame we threw points away against Southampton and bournemouth.
Im a glass half empty than half full with Everton. Its years of being kicked in the teeth by this club.
still in it. But last few weeks. Digging in there.

I said months ago we'd never get relegated this season.

We look a million miles away from being a basket case team.

Too competitive, too organised.

2 defeats in 13 games.

To be fair you also said you would rest our better players v the better teams, and would lose today  But ive stuck to we would stay up all season, just like the last few even when it seemed bad

You would think that the points we have thrown away against bottom half teams in first half of the season can't be repeated in the reverse fixtures (just by law of averages if nothing else). Equally probably won't take points from Chelsea, Arsenal and city again.

On that basis we should be fine. But must start winning those games.

I thought we would.

However, even with a loss today we'd have still beaten Forest and been nowhere near in the relegation race come Easter.

We'll beat Forest on Sunday. I'm pretty sure of it.

We also have to remember we didnt win a game in 4months from Mid dec to start of April last season. Somehow i can see us winning one at worst in same time frame, that hopefully does not see us needing what seems a usual run of needing wins in april and may to keep us up. Though we have what looks ok games then. But a long way to go

Yes, but there's been 3 points won in fixtures many had written off two weeks ago.

Our problem is not keeping tight and restricting good teams chances, our problem is having forwards that can stick a half chance away. Ndiaye took his today thank goodness, but we need a lot more to grab wins.

Good morale boosting draws though.

As said, I dont rate Forest despite their position.

We'll beat them on Sunday.

Forest will be difficult...might be the more difficult game than we had against city. They're doing great right now. I wouldn't be surprised if we end up losing at home against them...

Let's not write Forest off. They will give us a tougher game than City just have.

Unless we actually commit bodies forward we will struggle to break down an extremely solid forest defense. Be more of the same I think 0-0 1-0.
