2024/25 Relegation Battle (Without Everton!)

The difficulty with looking at PPG and all that is the margins are so small that the data doesn't really tell you anything that the table itself doesn't already. I mean if we were to win 2 in a row now and the others pick up nothing then you'd say we were virtually safe, but if the reverse happens then we're in deep trouble. The swings on individual weeks can be massive when you're looking at 1 win potentially giving you 10% of the total points you need to stay up.

Guardiola has always had the thing said about him that if any player ever asks to leave due to his playing time then he'd never step in their way mate, I think he's genuine about that too - as he's done so in the past with players he didn't want to leave.

Would the lad come here though, depends on a lot of factors but if we don't even think he would then it's self fulfilling. Personally if we sold the project enough to him and how central he was to it then maybe he would, the Ball family connection could actually play a factor too as well as how close we are to were he grew up and still lives.
That's true actually. Forgot he has said that and backed it up too.
No harm is asking anyway, he just might be interested. Would definitely be a key player for us

PSR is a joke that's run its course.

Was Moyes telling lies when he said he needs players in during this window?
You know as well as I do, PSR is a joke for clubs who aren’t us. The moment we breach again we will be hammered.

Nope, he wasn’t telling lies, and there will be invoking, but not on the levels that I am sure you are demanding, i.e impossible levels.

What levels are allowed to be spent for Everton then?

I'm looking at 37 points being a safe bet for safety for us. Which means getting a point per game for the remaining games - 17 points in 17 games.

Easily doable with Moyes in charge instead of Dyche and i'd like us to get above 40 really. Be nice to have it wrapped up with 4-5 games left though and have a chance of rising up the league a bit.

If we get to 37, the others below would almost certainly have to get 38 due to poor goal difference and I just can't see any of them getting to 38.

Winning all of our home games against the bottom three would go a huge way to ensuring safety.

Really have to be looking all 9 points there, or at least 7. They will still be a test, as we routinely trip up in these games.

But should take it game by game really, Leicester coming up soon anyway.
